孔庙忠烈祠

孔庙、忠烈祠在台湾很多地方都有，大致差不多，只是台中是我第一次去的城市。

正殿要收门票虽然不贵但看了偏殿大概也就知道是如何了。偏殿有一整篇的大学，并有忠孝礼义四大字，算是一个古代的客厅。正殿正在装修，所以就没进去。

在台灣孔廟中算是年紀輕的孔廟; 該有的格局都有, 但地位普通

孔庙主祀大成至圣先师孔子，孔子在教育、政治、及德行修养方面有深远的见解与影响，设立孔庙的宗旨是尊崇孔子的哲学思想及复兴中华文化，诸如『有教无类』、『仁民爱物』、『忠恕之道』等。在新的世代中儒学有新的诠释，亦希望藉孔孟学说匡正日益衰颓的社会风气。现今的孔庙虽以宣扬儒学为主，但对其他学说亦兼容并蓄，而有先儒先贤之陪祀。可于万仞宫墙外一窥雍穆之美，亦可进入孔庙景仰圣贤夙昔风范。

各位去台中的孔庙，千万不要抱着看古蹟的心态，因为这孔庙只是近代建造的仿古建筑。话虽如此，这孔庙的建筑格局照十足中国传统，有牌坊和泮池，为表敬意，主殿屋顶用宫殿才能用的庑殿顶，颇具气派，粗眉仔初到时有个错觉，以为自己到了北京的紫禁城。台中孔庙不算是个甚么热门景点，游人绝少，但就因为人少，当作逛逛公园，洗涤一下耳根的繁嚣亦不错，反正从一中商圈过来亦很近，只需五分钟左右。特别一提，台中孔庙周边有多间学校，莫非想沾得万世师表的灵气乎？台湾庙宇的堪赏之处，不在其外貌和历史，而在其文化内涵。

孔庙忠烈祠就在繁华大街旁边，可是有人不太多，进去感觉就是十分清净。里面地方还可以，就是可以在台湾看到比较古旧的中国式建筑，这个就很难得了，最重要是不用门票，经过的可以来看看

里面的环境颇庄严肃穆，闲暇无事可顺道走走，如果喜欢看古建筑的话，应该会觉得比较值得。一般人好像不太会去~~但这里离一中街算近，有兴趣可短暂停留。

This place was not a historic site but a replica from the old traditional architecture in China, even though, the building itself is still very calm and serene. It's a wonderful spot for taking nice pictures and there's a convenient Ibike rental spot just by the shrine.

A quiet temple in a busy city. No need any entrance fee and not much people come. A historical place to take pics.

Visiting the Confucius Temple without a guidebook is easy to do, thanks to the excellent English language brochure. The brochure is very informative and provides a comprehensive overview of the temple and its grounds. The inside of the temple - the Great Perfection Hall - is even more ornate and beautiful and filled with rich detail. And as we learned from our helpful brochure, it is evidently one of the few example of classical Song Dynasty architecture in Taiwan. Allow a minimum of 1 hour to visit as the grounds of the temple, which are large and inviting.

I went there with few friends in the fifth day of trip. The temple is close quite early, around 5pm. The temple is beautiful and special because there is a confucius temple and it is a landmark of a place in Taipei.

A temple in the heart of Taichung city. Beautiful garden. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Helpful and friendly staff. Worth a visit!

This temple is in the heart of a bustling area of Taichung but the minute you enter the gates it is quiet and peaceful. The gardens are lovely. The day we visited there was a group learning a traditional flute type instrument and another creating beautiful works of traditional art. This added to the atmosphere...worth seeking out.

It's very pretty but it's a pretty standard temple. Nice grounds. There's no admission fee and it's located right in Taichung City, not a far drive from the train station.

Small temple by Chinese standards, easy to navigate. Reveals early history of Taiwan. Most interesting time is 11, when changing of the guard

Amazing history nestled right in town. Great way to spend a half day, and it was amazing to walk through the walls of these buildings.
