We did a 2 day horse trek in August with the Langmusi Windhorse Trekking company. The weather was superb. All our needs were taken care of by Sonam. He provided us with a friendly & helpful guide, Darko ,who was able to communicate with us quite easily concidering our language barrier. The scenery was spectacular and our home stay hosts were delightful. This was a unique experience which we will never forget. If you want an insight into the life of nomadic Tibetan yak & sheep herders this trek is ideal. We highly recommend the Langmusi Windhorse Trekking company !! Gary & Marcelle from Australia
I just finished a 2 day horse trek in Langmusi, and I loved it. The scenery is beautiful, and the homestay experience was more than I could have asked for. sonam, the guy who runs it, gave me a great deal of flexibility in when I started and finished and where I went, which I appreciated as a solo traveler, and he also speaks English, which was very helpful! The place is easy to find in Langmusi, on the main street with a big wooden Wind Horse Trekking sign out front, and the website has some information on it, windhorse-trekking.com, but I also just showed up in the evening and left the next day. My guide did not speak English, but he was able to communicate just fine, and he and his wife (I stayed with them for the homestay) were very friendly to me. Definitely a highlight! Oh, and I did this in June and the weather was great. I was provided a sleeping bag for the night and was just fine. Make sure to wear sunscreen, though!
What a beautiful lake for a nice stop. The white tipped mountains in the background with the sun glistening off the water. It screams for a shot. If you stay on the outside area you can get good shots but not sure if you go to the main area if you need to pay a little something.
beautiful grassland, eagles, yaks, horses, goats... very fresh air, local food(zangba, yak yogurt, yak meat), Tibetan way living, very nice place. Sonam is the guy who manage Wind Horse trekking, offer 1-3 days horse trekking in nomad area. If you wanna live a nomad life in Langmusi, go there, contact this guy, u'll get what u want.
