Been there several times and I cannot leave without take new photos.Ther are several things to do in the largest park in Europe, such as: go for a picnic, running, play games, cycling, see the deers, visit the president in the beatiful white house (ok, that may not be possible), etc.It definitely worth a visit, no matter if you are solo, with friends or family.Best enjoyed in a sunny day :)
Well worth a trip to relax and enjoy an amazing park in Dublin. There are lots of things to do here..rent a bike,go to the zoo,see some wild life..or just relax and enjoy the beauty and history of this place. You won't be disappointed !
If you come here with a car, I suggest parking along the side of the road. There are a few monuments in this park. My favorite was the Wellington Monument (obelisk) which is the tallest obelisk in Europe. It is a nice way to pass some time.
The grass is so green and you can walk for miles, lay in the sun, feed the birds, see all the monuments and spend a lovely afternoon with your friends or family. A great spot to take a break on a day filled with things to do.
Before coming to Dublin I had heard of The Phoenix Park listening to a song made famous by the Irish Group; The Wolfe Tones. Ever since hearing the song I have always wanted to visit. The Park was also visited by Pope John Paul II in 1979 where he drew over 1 million people as he held Mass at the Park. As large as it is, it is well worth a visit. It is spectacular. We had a taxi pick us up from our hotel and dropped us off inside the Park by the cross that commemorates the Pope's visit. From there we walked around for a few hours and took in its beauty. You will find herds of deer roaming around freely. The Dublin Zoo is also in the Park worth a visit if you are travelling with children. Once you leave the Park, make a left turn and visit the Botanical Gardens. Enjoy!
The park is enormous the road that runs through it goes on for ever, Theres a herd of deer that roam around the park we were lucky to see them when we were there, Dublin zoo is housed in the park also the irish presidents house, The american ambassadors house is in the park and the duke of wellingtons monument..
Took a stroll through the park on our way to Dublin Zoo. It is lovely and very well maintained park.
What a lovely park, spreading for miles. It was good to see so many people using the park. We would liked to have had more time here to explore the park but sadly didn't.
Very, very windy when we visited, but well worth it. A stunning park. Lots to see, zoo, presidents house etc. would love to go back in summer.
I have been going to this park ever since I was born. I go back every time I go back to Ireland (I'm a Middle Eastern expat now).It is beautiful, clean and natural. One of my most favourite places within Dublin, on a cold Autumn stroll or a run during the beautiful summer months. I can not fault this park.
A very nice park, quite large in area.Dublin zoo was on the grounds. We was told there is lots of deer on the park,we did not see any though. It would be lovely in the summer to spend time here.
Really pleasant way to spend a day walking or cycling through the park looking at the deers running around and feeding the irds in the ponds.
