chirrepeco cooperative tea tour

I visited Chirrepeco with my parents and husband and we really enjoyed it. It was a gorgeous day and it was so peaceful walking through the grounds. The guide knew a lot about the process and she was full of information on the history of the Cooperative and the process of creating the tea. My husband and I work in Ag., so we asked tons of questions and she was able to answer all of them, which is impressive. This is a definitely must for all visitors to Cobán, it is not far from the town center, less than 10 minutes. Just take any bus heading to San Juan Chemlco and tell the driver you want to get off at Chirrepeco (everyone knows where it is).

コバンからサン・フアン・チャメルコに向かう途中にある紅茶農場、それがChirrepecoです。ですが本来の名前はChirrepecですし、地元の人はそう呼んでいます。グアテマラで最も飲まれている紅茶ですが、ここの農場ではその製造過程の見学ツアーができます。直売所もあり、もちろんここが一番安いです。　グアテマラ人は紅茶を薄く煮出して砂糖たっぷり入れるのでおいしくない紅茶だと思っていましたが、ここで買ってきて家でいれたらそれなりにおいしい紅茶でした。ケクチ族の紅茶摘みの絵が描いてあるパッケージはお土産にもお勧めです。さらに木箱に入れてあるものもあり、お土産になると思われます。我が家から車で２，３分ほどですが、時折紅茶を買いに行っています。ついでにチャメルコも見学して行ってください。観光名所も特にない小さな町ですが、のんびりしていますし、ケクチ族の生活を身近に感じることが出来ます。
