If you are looking for a destination vacation that is outside the U.S. than this is the place. This is an amazing park. My kids (14, 12, 10, 1 1/2) all had a great time. The amusement park next door is another wonderful visit. IRTRA has a resort across the street with lodging to fit all budgets. You could actually never leave the resort and have a great time. A must see for adventurous families.

You won't regret it. It's one of the better waterparks my family has been to, It's clean, safe, all the things that might make you question going. We had no problem there at all. Limited English is spoken across the street at the various lodges and restaurants but we didn't have any issues at the park. Note: my children are 8 and 12 and bilingual, my wife and I can order drinks and that's about it. The other thing to keep in mind is that admission to various rides are based on height. My eight-year-old son is tall for his age and could get onto essentially any ride except, I think, one.

Our weekend at Xocomil and Xetulul were revised a bit by a fallen power pole on the highway to Retalhuleu. So we only had a half day for Xocomil. It was so much fun, even for my twin 4-year-olds. We planned to leave by noon but didn't have the heart to tell our kids it was time to go home and stayed until 3pm when the park finally shut down due to the thunder and lightning. My kids were exhausted! The wave pool and all of the kid areas were plenty of fun for my little guys. 4 days later, they are still talking about it! The food available is all fried fast food. I wish I would have known that it was ok to bring outside food in. We saw many families enjoying full spreads of lunch from their coolers they brought in. Use the lockers for everything. We locked up everything except our flip flops and towels. My son's flip flops were taken. While I was glad we didn't lose anything of much value, I was irritated that people had the audacity to take somebody else's things.

We travel regularly to Guatemala and always include a day out to Xocomil. It is unmissable for us and our family. As an adoptive family we feel very safe and always have a great time.

This is definitely a great Water Park. You are going to have a great time. There is fun for everyone .... kids and grown-ups. Great food at site. Driving time about 3-4 hours from Guatemala City depending on traffic.

We packed our bags and drove to the most amazing wather park in Central America. We wore 18 people with kids of 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 13 and 3 16ers.We all had a blast. Be prepared for some great and fun rides. I bought a wather proof case for my iphone and I managed to take photos and even videos. It's a MOST if you visit Guatemala.

The new water slides (free fall, almost) are absolutely a must-ride. You will definitely need a swimsuit or you won't be allowed on the slides or pools et all, but it is worth it.You can spend pretty much from 9 AM to 5PM inside pools and slides and not want to get out. The place is perfect to go with friends or family, especially in teen years since the best slides are rather "extreme".Even though the walk up to the slides is pretty exhausting, you'll find yourself going up over and over again (free falls!) no matter how tired you get. DO NOT forget water shoes (whatever they're called)! You'll end up with blistery feet from walking around too much barefoot

A friend of mine invited myself and my niece to go, and so we went. However, because she doesn't know how to swim, she doesn't have a swimsuit; she always went to the beach with a tanktop and a pair of shorts. Unfortunately, even if one is using a swimsuit, you can't go on the rides with a tanktop and shorts (swimsuits ONLY!). Fortunately, they conveniently sell swimsuits at the park for a price far away from the entrance. My friend had to go from the attraction where we were all the way back to the lockers (for money) and come back to the store so we could buy her a swimsuit. It was a good 15-20 minute walk each way; so rather than take up more time after buying the suit, he put the change in a plastic bag and put it in his pocket. Although the "ride" was a quiet tube float, the bag managed to escape his pocket; so, we were out even more money. There were very few food options in the park, but fortunately we brought our own food. Most rides didn't have long lines. Make sure you bring flip flops, sandals, or some sort of shoe that it is easy to slip in and out of.Besides the swimsuit debacle, we enjoyed ourselves very much. If you want pictures, bring a waterproof camera, but still be prepared for someone to sit out on the fun because many of the attractions won't let you on with anything besides your swimsuit!

We hadn't heard of this place until we were in Quetzaltenango and on recommendations got a chicken bus there (1hr15, drops you right at the gate). We arrived just after opening time (9.30) and the place was so quiet that we could walk straight onto the rides without having to ever queue until about 11am when it started getting a little busier, even then the max queue was about 5 mins.The rides are awesome, very imaginative and some of them had plenty of fear factor; equally, there are huge areas great for kids of all ages, with wave machines and rapids and mini water slides.The park itself is well set up with lockers and showers and fastfood eateries, which were OK, but you're also allowed to bring food into the park yourself. For 'internationals', it's 100 quetzales for the day including all the rides.Highly recommended!

We visited Guatemala's largest water park on the way to the Mexico/Guatemala border (to renew our visas). It's huge, beautiful, clean and AMAZING! One of the biggest and best water parks we've ever seen. We could have easily spent more time (we arrived at 11:00 a.m., it closes at 4 pm.)We brought in our own food, but there is food for sale. There's lockers and bathrooms, changing rooms and showers. Wave pools, kiddie pools, a lazy river and TONS of great slides. The park is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and maybe Wednesdays... but open Thursday thru Sunday. So I went to Guatemala for the 1st time (i was born in america with a Guatemala father) and there is A TON of rides that you will find here. The only complaint I had was that it closed early (December), but there are just a ton of rides you will find here.

Guatemala is famous for great spots. In particular historic sites or beautiful landscapes can´t be easily topped by other countries. Xocomil is one of two parks in Rehu. It is a water world theme park and is an ideal destination for the whole family. Tremendous slide, pools with waves, etc. make this a fantastic location. Staff is friendly and security is guaranteed (security in the sense of lifeguards, life saving vest obligation for kids). Price for none member is around 100Q, family member of members get in for free.

I was born in the U.S, but both my mom & step-dad are from Guatemala. I've only been to Guate once, the day after we arrived my uncles (which have some type of pass to get a discount & get some people in for free & cut ahead of everyone else waiting) took us to Xocomil. While I packed everything to head out I wasn't too convinced about going because I didn't know how to swim, but as soon as I got out the car I fell in love with the view. You could just imagine how much I loved it inside! Honestly its a wonderful park if you're a traveler.

We spent a Sunday at Parque Acuático Xocomil and had a wonderful time. There are a ton of rides and all are very well maintained. I was able to take my small kids on numerous rides, although some where for big kids only. Besides the rides, there is also a lazy river, wave pool and multiple kiddie pools. One big plus to this park is normally there are no lines. I would suggest you show up wearing bathing suits and then rent a locker (located at the entrance) when you get there. Watershoes are not needed and most people spent the day walking barefoot. Only swimwear is allowed to be worn in the pools, so no t-shirts. Overall I enjoyed this more than the three big waterparks I've been to in the US.
