The zip lining was a blast. The staff were fun, safe and reliable. The views from this zip line were the best. We did a few and going through the trees, over waterfalls made it incredible. Even the walks between the lines were breathtaking. We paid for the video and pictures, lost it along the way, emailed them and they sent us a new one! Great service!
The ziplining is a lot of fun; we're often bored ziplining because it can get repetitive, but the experience in Costa Rica is definitely different.
My husband and I did our first zip line as "active seniors" at another facility last year in Costa Rica. We were excited to share our experience with traveling friends this year and chose Mundo Aventura as a change of scene. We read the health warnings before we started...heart problems, pregnancy and we all "passed". But nothing spoken or posted prepared us for what was simply described as a "10 minute walk" after getting off the bus. It was a steep climb up dozens of steps of irregular height which, at our pace, took considerably longer than 10 minutes. Anyone with even mild hip or knee problems could be seriously challenged. The number of steps needs to be made quite clear at reception. The staff was generally quite positive but we felt the pressure to keep everyone moving. Special thanks to Milena who helped one member of our party who is quite short, and had become very frustrated with her inability to properly reach the wire without exerting downward pressure and kept getting stuck. Milena stepped in, they went tandem, and the experienced was salvaged.Zip lining is a great thrill for fit seniors, but there are better facilities that won't exhaust you before you even get to the first wire.
The scenery was beautiful. There were 2 terrific female guides. However, the rest of the experience was awful.First of all, they over-book. They crammed 40 people in our group - including 8 kids. There was long waiting time for the orientation and between the lines. The main guide seemed highly irritated the entire time and did not smile once. Secondly, their prices are not honest. They quote the prices in US, but they do not use the exchange rate of your credit card. They set their own exchange rate and charge you in local currency at an unfavorable exchange rate. They don't allow you to bring cameras. They have a photographer - Photos cost $20 per person and for our family of 7, they discounted it and it still cost $90. The photos were not good quality either. Luckily, I took photos with my phone - they turned out a lot better than their photographer's photos. Also, we called ahead to make sure that they take kids who are 5. Then we showed up and they said that we would need to pay for an additional adult price for the child - this was, they said, so that my child would have a dedicated guide for the ziplines. So the price for my 5 year old was the child price + additional adult price. This would have been OK if my child had a dedicated guide, but he did not. In fact, he was doubled up with another kid for one zip line, and then he waited a long time for the other zip lines while there was no guide available for him to go with. The scenery was very beautiful and we zip lined over La Fortuna falls. I hope the management of this place improves.
We went birdwatching here at the request of the friends with whom we traveled. I was prepared to be bored....instead I was totally engaged, thanks to the enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide, Ulises. He was so personable, knowledgeable and engaged in the wildlife, it was impossible not to catch his enthusiasm! We also ziplined here, and had a fantastic time. I was scared to death, but Ulises again helped us tremendously, and we all had a great time. Even in the rain, it was fun.
Hello!First of all we are truly sorry that you had the wrong impression. With the price I am sure there was a missunderstanding because our price it is $63 per person.Regarding our guides, they are very funny and try to make a happy mood from the begining of the tour, we apologies if you found that comment inappropriate. Anyhow, we respect your comment and will take it as we always do: as constructive.SincerelyJorge SalasPublic Relations
The quality of the zipline length and views were just stunning and marvelously exciting. The staff, however, and the whole getting to the ziplines experience was dreadful. They herded and shouted at us as if we were cattle. The main guide was so loud and pompous, he frightened my son and gave me an instant headache. They rushed us, too many of us, through the ziplines. So there was a lot of waiting and hurrying. Also the receptionist, very disagreable woman, seemed too bored at her job and barely answered our questions. They told us we could not bring our camera, all that to force us to use their photographer. I realized halfway through, that with my zip pockets, it would have been fine. They just are too greedy, and include an unforeseen stop to buy local indigenous goods. It was interesting but without having told us, it felt so contrived and insulting. Half the guides seemed to be new at their jobs, checking their text messages while hooking us on and scaring my son by telling him this was their first time too. Ugh! Luckily my son could rise above it and we managed to enjoy ourselves anyhow. I would not recommend this for children under 8yrs.

Hello! That's the thing when you are in the rain forest, you never know when is going to start raining. Fortunately, the tour can be done even if is raining. It seems that you enjoyed it anyway :).Thank you very much for you commentJorge SalasPublic Relations
This canopy adventure was recommended by our hotel staff and it was great. 12 zip lines starting with short easy lines giving us some time to get comfortable. We lucked out with a clear day and had a great view of the waterfall and volcano. Staff (Melina and...) were professional and attentive to details. Be aware that there is some walking and a fair number of steps to climb but it was very doable. Would highly recommend.
BrianThank you very much for your comment. The girls and all our tour guides try to do their best every day. We are really glad that you had a great time. Please comeback somedaySincerelyJorge Salas Public Relations
Tripadvisor recommended Arenal Mundo Aventura. The online booking was very easy.We were picked up on time from our hotel. It was included in the price. After a safety briefing we start the great zip-line-fun. Security is very respected. there are 12 ropes. one of them is almost 1km long. the staff always has a smile on his face. I would do the tour again at any time! Thx for the great day!
We did the zip lining, rappelling and horseback riding. It was a GREAT experience. I have done all three activities before elsewhere, but this excursion dwarfed all the previous ones. It's the first time for others in the family, including our teenage daughters, but the guides made us feel safe and comfortable as they were very experienced and attentive. It was raining hard that day. They sent somebody to check the route to make sure it's safe for us to do the rappelling. The zip lining offered fantastic views of the forest and the waterfall. The rappelling brought you up close to the waterfall and allowed you to experience every inch of the waterfall. Literally, as you have to climb up the waterfall on a narrow ladder... Absolutely fantastic for all of us. I highly recommend this tour.
Our family of four was supposed to zip line but, after the instructions, my daughter said she had an upset stomach so my husband stayed back with her. My oldest daughter and I went zip lining with Steven and Paton. They were so much fun and it was exciting to see their antics on the lines while at the same time making sure everyone had a safe experience. After we were done, I asked if my oldest daughter could go again so my husband could experience zip lining, and they said it was no problem. Their guides were more down to business and not nearly as much fun as Steven!
We were a group of 6, ranging in age from 6 to 62. A kind woman at the reception desk had given us directions the day before when we were lost, so the next day we decided to come back and see what sort of adventures they offered. We walked in and got on the next 12-line zip line tour that left about an hour later. We felt safe and well-cared for the entire time, and had the most amazing time! It was pouring rain at least half the time which was a bit of a bummer, but we still had a blast. My 6yr old daughter rode w/Steven who was wonderful. He made us all feel comfortable and helped her to have a great time. We didn't bring any cameras or phones, although there would have been plenty of opportunities to take photos (they discourage it at the beginning by telling you there won't be space or time for photos, but there is). We were glad we didn't bring them though, since we ended up absolutely soaked to the bone from the rain! I do regret not getting the photo package though, I think that would have been a nice memento (even though we would have looked like drowned rats). I absolutely recommend this outfit for fun and safety. You are in good hands here!
