Staffing was nice, event cooked gluten free meals for US. Cuide was superb, bus driver too. The tres were incredible. Great place to visit.
The huge ceiba tres are worth seeing. The staff was great, could not ask anything more of them. Fold was great, they even cooked especial gluten-free dishes for us. Would recommend to make a reservation so they'd make the guide and bus wait for you.
We just spent five days in Pangola and we were at Cinco Ceibas every day. It is an incredible area and the team at Cinco Ceibas did a great job at presenting the Costa Rican rain forrest to almost anyone. The design and layout really coincides with the natural landscape and the boardwalk really makes you feel like you are walking through a primordial jungle and a Tyrannosaurus Rex might be looming around the next bend. What I find amazing is the founders of the park planted teak trees more than 20 years ago and then harvested that wood to build all the structures on the property. How cool is that! I highly recommend anyone who wants to really get into the heart of the rainforest in a comfortable way to visit Cinco Ceibas.
Our group of 15 had a wonderful day at Cinco Ceibas. The boardwalk tour was definitely the highlight of our day. We loved the guide pointing out the native plants and being able to follow along in the guide book. We also went horseback riding. The views on the trail were absolutely incredible. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful.
My best friend and I had an amazing time at Cinco Ceibas. We were able to horseback ride for hours and kayaking was awesome! The customer service was probably the best I have ever experienced. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and we were able to really connect with nature. The food and drinks were delicious and healthy. The overall experience was so relaxing that we did not want to leave! Needless to say I will be visiting again with my husband and son. :)
The kayak trip is a MUST! Plenty of monkeys hanging from above...a sloth spotting...and enough little runs to keep it a slight challenge for beginners. When you think you have had the best food in Costa Rica...you find another great meal at cinco ceibas...but the atmosphere is beyond the finest! The boardwalk is worth the value! Be aware of thinking you are lost as the road for a few miles is like driving on a riverbed! But, well worth it! Hope it is graded by my next visit!
Loved this place! We had such a wonderful time and I highly recommend it! My favorite part was the rainforest boardwalk.
There's beautiful nature and great adventures everywhere in Costa Rica but Cinco Ceibas somehow manages to go beyond that and they make the experience accessible to pretty much anybody. Customer service is exceptional. We were very impressed by everything, from the food (and their kindness in accommodating our special dietary needs although we had not communicated them in advance) to the decoration. Just a must. Minor was our guide and he was wonderful.
My husband and parents and I visited Cinco Ceibas last weekend to check out the boardwalk and the new restaurant---what an incredible place! We were met by the friendly and knowledgeable manager, Tom, who is an expert botanist. Tom took us on the Cinco Ceibas rainforest boardwalk--the boardwalk is almost a mile long and is very well made and safe and comfortable for folks of all ages. I don't think I've even taken so long to walk a mile--there was SO MUCH to see on the trail! We saw a parade of leaf-cutter ants carrying purple flowers, two keel-billed toucans, heard howler monkeys, and found Greater white-lined bats and their babies roosting in the ceibas. Plus not to forget the amazing ceiba trees--I have traveled all over Costa Rica and have never seen so many huge, awe-inspiring trees in one place. When we finished the boardwalk we stopped at the restaurant, which is centered on an enormous, breezy, beautiful, patio above the Rio Pangola--the perfect place to relax at the end of the day, have a beer or fresh fruit juice, and look out for wildlife in the river.Definitely worth the trip!
Pura Vida..the foundation is set for Costa Rica's next great natural attraction. From endangered Great Green Macaws flying overhead to colorful poison dart frogs at your feet in the pristine primary rainforest. I have led eco-trips throughout Latin America and it was my 8th time to Costa Rica and was very impressed with the pristine condition of the forest and the sustainable practices that are being applied, from over a million trees planted for reforestation and ten of thousands of wildlife attracting plants such as heliconias and other hummingbird favorites that have been planted for easy butterfly and bird viewing. I had never experienced such interesting and relaxing kayaking along miles the Rio Cuatro within the Cinco Ceibas Reserve, I saw the secretive and spectacular sunbittern and three species of kingfishers. Another first for me was actually feeling completely relaxed on the well-trained horses, I have a fear of riding horses especially in the rainforest. But the horses were very tranquil and easy to ride and because of that I totally love riding horses now. The greatest feature is the boardwalk that winds over a mile through pristine primary forest , day or night we saw lots of animals from armadillos to the ubiquitous red-eyed tree frog. I have never seen so may frogs and all from safety of the boardwalk. I come from the land of nature boardwalks in the Everglades, Florida and Cinco Ceibas ranks up there, as far as I know it is the only elevated rainforest boardwalk. The greatest advantage of a boardwalk, you do not need to worry about tripping over tree roots or stepping on venomous snakes, plus an advantage of being up higher and making less noise you see more wildlife. The vision and future looks bright for Cinco Ceibas , in the land so many choices in nature / adventure oriented travel, this has to one of your first choices. Can't wait to take my family there for this Christmas!
For nature lovers this is a must see. The beautiful preserved tropical forest is accessible to all here. The boardwalk is fantastic. I especially enjoyed the lodge with its great food served by such friendly people. I felt recharged after my day here. Well worth the trip.
I cannot believe how much fun Cinco Ceibas was. Each adventure was extremely exciting and not just something that was boring. The kayak trip they offer is surrounded by wildlife, sights everything from cows to monkeys to iguanas. While being pulled along in a kayak. The river includes of some rapids which keep the trip fun and exciting. The boardwalk is so fascinating and it is really cool to see all of the exotic plants of Costa Rica. The horseback riding tour is really easy and fun and again much wildlife and nature surrounds the trails on which the horses walk over. All of the staff at Cinco Ceibas are friendly and hard working. The location of Cinco Ceibas is tucked away in the most coolest place of Costa Rica. Pack your bags because you need to go to Cinco Ceibas in Costa Rica. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Costa Rica.
Great experience in a beautiful setting. Make sure take the boardwalk tour - the Ceibas trees are unbelievable. It takes 40 people holding hands to surround one! The kayaking was great too - it's such a fun way to experience the rainforest and we spotted multiple families of howler monkeys along the way. I'd definitely go back!
Cinco Ceibas is an absolute MUST GO if you are visiting Costa Rica!! Costa Rica has a wonderful tourism industry but Cinco Ceibas really gives you a lasting impression of what beauty and nature is in CR. Cinco Ceibas is so welcoming to those who want to have an action filled day-trip of kayaking, horseback riding, going on an oxen cart tour, exploring the jungle on the elevated boardwalk, education about CR's wildlife, and an excellent fresh (and healthy!) meal. They have great facilities for guests to be comfortable while visiting... clean, big bathrooms and locker rooms at the kayak house and comfortable seating in the restaurant. The atmosphere of the property is very fun and inviting. I loved the art and bright colors and live music they had playing during lunch! They also have a beautiful one of a kind gift shop selling all local crafts and clothing. I really appreciated how Cinco Ceibas practices sustainability and the whole concept of being "green." It truly was an absolutely amazing experience!
If you are looking for an educational and unique Costa Rican experience, look no further. Cinco Ceibas is tucked away in Costa Rica's northern zone, in close proximity to the Saripiqui. They offer 4 different day tours including an oxen tour, boardwalk, kayaking and horseback riding. Each trip is designed so that you are completely submerged in raw nature without actually being intimidated by the wildlife. Meaning that you don't have to get dirty to experience the beauty of the rainforest. Cinco Ceibas is truly a unique and peaceful getaway.
