Love Gaia Estate!! Drink coconut water from the palm tree to your hands, in the coconut, with fresh and organic bananas. Great bird watching place and very unique, authentic and real coffee tour, you learn a lot about the coffee, and the price includes a pound a fresh roasted coffee!
Spent two days on the estate birding and learning about shade grown organic bird friendly coffee with Jefferson, the owner, and 9 other people. Jefferson is equally well versed in his coffee operation and bird identification, as well as being a heck of a nice guy. Had some of the best coffee ever and it was a beautiful, fun experience.I'd recommed it to everyone, bring binoculars, cameras and sturdy walking shoes. He is also partnered with Birds and Beans Coffeewho organized this Birds of Two Worlds tour.
We enjoyed a great day at Gaia Estate - the property is beautiful, the owners are super friendly, and the coffee is delicious! It was so interesting to learn about the coffee-making process, and all that's involved in growing coffee in a sustainable way. We always try to buy fair trade, shade grown, organic coffee - but it's not easy to find coffee in the stores that meets all 3 of our criteria. Coffee from Gaia Estate does! We highly recommend a visit to Gaia Estate - it's easy to hike around the property with your guide, you'll see lots of birds and wildlife, and I bet you'll learn something new about coffee! Enjoy your visit!
If you want to know the whole process to get your cup of coffee, go there! You will get a 5 stars coffee tour, is close by Managua, Granada or San Juan del Sur, and is a very unique place to relax after a really nice hike, or a pretty interesting and fun coffee tour, you got the opportunity to see more birds that any other place i have seen in the pacific of Nicaragua (one of the only bird friendly certified farm. If you want to understand the organic process, this is the place to go, very kids friendly too. You need to book in advance on line (www.gaiaestate.com). Is a great place to go with group and for a day trip. They do learning tours (university kind of courses), and bird tours too. If you want to have food cover by them you have to ask when you book or you will get just coffee, cookies and organic coconut water and bananas.
