The Multisport Tour of Nicaragua with Backpackers on Bikes was wonderful. Our family of four (two kids aged eight and nine) was looking for a holiday with lots of activity as well as a chance to experience a culture significantly different from our Ontario lifestyle, This trip had all of this in spades. It was brilliantly organized. Julie and Mark had clearly planned each part of the trip in a thoughtful and intelligent manner. The riding days were highly enjoyable. The routes were picturesque and had little traffic. We were able to witness life in Nicaragua at the gentle pace of a bike. The scenery was often stunning and we had the feeling we were seeing many of the most striking parts of the country. Our kids (and us) also loved the other activities: horse-riding on a beach, kayaking up a river, climbing a volcano and having a surf lesson. As we are vegetarians, Mark and Julie also spent time researching an array of delicious restaurants for us; this extra care was evident in all aspects of the tour. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys activity and adventure in their travels and a chance to spend time in a beautiful, fascinating country. We had an incredible time seeing Nicaragua with the 2 owners of Backpackers on Bikes! They are very knowledgeable about the country and the best way to experience it. We saw the most beautiful scenery, the people are very friendly and warm and delicous food. Your hosts, Julie and Mark will take care of everything (airport transfers, reservations, day trips ) and will take you to some of the most breathtaking spots Nicaragua has to offer. We fell in love in particular with the fishing beach town of Playa Gigante, paradise on Earth! We also explored Granada, Laguna de Apoyo and Las Isletas - all absolutely worth seeing. We went with our 2 children ages 5 and 10 and felt very safe and welcome. An experience that we will remember always!

This was a trip of a life time. 8 dynamic women and 2 very special delightful guides (Julie & Mark). We were a large group to accommodate but hats off to Julie and Mark for being so well organized, easy going and a pleasure to be around. They made our trip a delight, the only thing we ever had to think about was what we were going to eat next. This was a wonderful way to see the country and how the people live. I would do it again in a heart beat. I think a few of us are already thinking about which tour to take next year. So if you are looking for some adventure, beautiful weather, exercise, good food, no stress holiday this is it. A perfect vacation and a healthy one. Thanks again guys for everything. Sharon

Julie and Mark made us feel so comfortable and they showed as a side of Nicaragua we would never have experienced on our own. Thanks again for everything and I hope we get to come again some time soon, but next time with the bambinos!!

Planning a trip to Nicaragua was so exciting but we didn't know much about how to get around etc. Backpackers on bike picked us up from the airport and had everything planned and organized for our bike tour on the islands of Ometepe and with a final destination of Playa Gigante (aka Paradisio)I was worried not being an avid biker (I had not biked in Years) I completed it all with such a feeling of proudness and accomplishment!Such an incredible fun experience and planning on going back in 2015! To everyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience, this is it!!
