Interesting, very complete : after this visit you'll know everything about coffee! the only thing i regret is that you cannot buy coffee there, after you're visit !
Loads of info at this free coffee museum. Plus an excellent cup of coffee to be had for only 15 cordobas.
The coffee museum was also worth a visit. It provided information so detailed you could start your won coffee farm, but also gave a nice overview of the history of coffee in Nicaragua.Info in Spanish and English.
They have the history of the coffee production in Matagalpa region. If you are with a group, it is small.
The museum was free, so no loss there. The museum is comprised of informational displays on the wall, so there is a lot if reading and some if it was interesting. If you happen to be walking by drop in and see what you think, but don't go out of your way.
We went to this coffee museum to learn a bit more about the history of coffee before we went on our trip to the coffee growing area.It is free and you sign a book on entry. It is written in Spanish and English. Very informative but at 12.30 we were asked to leave as they had to have their dinner and were shutting. I was amazed as we would have been finished in five minutes!!!We did return later as we were in the area. But then she asked me to sign in I told her we were there earlier. Then I had to ask her to put the lights on as it was so dark we couldn't see anything. No English spoken my Spanish is pocco!! ( little ) .Typical Nico way !!!
It is a cozy place in the city center allowing you easy access, it's free and it have a very friendly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a resource. The exhibits are well done (in Spanish & English) and their is a wealth of information one can glean in only a quick hour or so.
Very Interesting historical museum about Matagalpa. Recommend to other travelers. There is no fee to enter.
Important to know how the deutsch people were dedicated to the improvement of coffee raising and roasting durin the 19th and 20th centuries
Free entrance and a lot of information! No guides available, however the museum was pretty small and all the walls were covered with text about Matagalpa and coffee, could have good but now there was to much to read and to little to see. Text both in English and Spanish.
Although small in size, the museum is a must see....this is coffee country and there is a wide range of exhibits demonstrating the history of the cafe industry
