Inexpensive and self guided. $10 for 2 people w headphones Get headphones if you don't read Spanish. Excellent way to understand the building of the canal and helps with understanding relationship between USA and Panama We were there about 90 min. Nice displays on 2 floor in beautiful building in old town. If you have time watch the video about panama flag. Not translated but still amazing story and you can see pride of Panama people.
It takes you about one hour to go through the whole place. It is very interesting. The show you a film and have scale models of all the ships that were involved in the building process. It's well worth the visit.
Beautiful facility with observation decks to view the Canal and a wonderful museum. Arrive early to avoid the crowds and plan to stay so you can observe a large barge ship go through the canal. The museum is fabulous
Very good collection of documents, photography, artifacts, instruments used during its construction. Excellent organization that also covers actual time with the canal expansion construction that will be finished by 2016.
If you visit the canal, you should see the anal Museum. It gives you a small idea what had to be done to build the canal. Keep in mind Spanish and some English is spoken.

Do not miss. Great value for great exhibits from reality ride to lovely models of ships. Kids would love it. Nice 15 minute film as well.
A great museum on the canal, but focused mostly on the American efforts. Not much on the French efforts beforehand. Very interesting. It would be nice if there were a register of people that worked on the canal as my wife's grand father and great uncle were here working in some capacity
For history buffs, this is the best place to get the deep dive about the Canal. Lots of black and white photos and the full story about its development.
If you like history and would like to be part of it, now is the moment. Funny, a lot of history and ideas together. It is a must if you visit the republic of Panama. The view is amazing, the ships, the opening of the locks and all the engineering is interesting
Very attractive Building near the first weir at Panama City. Wonderful explanations either by movies or description and show cases
No doubt about it, the history here was amazing, we learned more about how it was made. This is an automatic visit if you are at the Canal
I did some reading about the Canal before the trip so it helped me with understanding the history and the exhibits. I really think that reading and some research helps enjoy the museum
