Quiet, close to city but a nice hide out. Being at an altitude is a cool. Road to the hill is well tarred and not many pot holes.
Visit Marudamalai and your wishes would come true. Very good temple which is very well maintained.Lord Murugans blessings are always with you.
If you are a new traveller to coimbatore or if you are a Lord Muruga devotee than this place should be in your list.A very good place and a very well constructed temple with not much maintenence.Easy access and very nearby to the city
The temple is nested in the hills of Marudamalai and is very clean considering the crowds that throng that temple. We had to climb over 150 steps to reach the top and you need to have strong knees to get you there without much pain. If you go slow you can make it in about 20 mins to the top. At the temple on the top there are two queues, a Free Darshan queue and a Paid darshan queue. I had about 25 people in front of me when I wa sin the queue. This was around 11:30am. he temple closes at 12 noon and re-opens at 5pm. The view of the plains form the height of about 2000 ft (where the temple is situated) is fantastic. Worth visiting the temple and offering prayers. One can sit around on the top and spend time gazing away at the city of Coimbatore in the distant horizon. Cars can drive up to the parking spot and you will have to trek up the well proportioned steps to the top (about 150 steps). One has to go up barefoot, so, when i went around 11:15am, the sun had heated up the granite steps and quite uncomfortable. However, they have another set of steps which are enclosed and this cann be used also. I'd visit that spot again when I go to Coimbatore next time.
The temple is near coimbatore on a small hill. One can climb the steps or go by car. Devastanam alsao run small bus to the top. This temple has become famous because of sandow chinnappa devar the famous director and producer. He has spent huge amount for the renovation of this temple. In fact the famous cine star M G R innaugurated the electrification althou he was in D M K and no faith in god. This is a small temple but neat and clean. You get peace of mind here.AZAHAR KOIL PAZHAMUDIR SOLAI . This place near madurai and one of the arupadai veedu. The way is inside the compound of famous kalazhar sundarajaperumal temple which is one of the 108 divya shetram. The murugan on the top of the hill srrounded by plants and trees. This is a very small temple. Above this there is nupra gangai where devotees take bath. The other famous murugan temples are valli malai, ratnagiri, vallakottai, milam, kundrathur, kandar kottam chennai etc.
It is a well maintained temple. Have transport facilities up to the temple and also you can climb the stairs. A land mark place to visit.
We have visited this temple on last day of 2014... temple is located in nice place.... in small hill surrounded by lot of hills in western ghats temple covered by mist.... finally had great dharshan in great temple.
The tranquil and picturesque location; perfectly suited for a place of worship. Wonderful experience of Lord's blessings. Worth visiting on every trip to Coimbatore.
To go up to the temple you must must climb up the steps to get the real feel so that by the time you reach up there is less of you and you can receive the vibrations and blessings of 'Kartic Swami' fully. Once you visit the main shrine please ensure to visit the cave of 'Pambatti Chittar', this place again is beautifully maintained and vibrates very gently and lovingly!
Nice, cool and calming. There's a flight of staircase leading up to temple as in the case with most Murugan temples. There is also a shrine under a tree for lord Ganesha who has 5 heads, we were quite lucky to witness the abhishekam being performed for him.
the place is beautiful. it was a special day for my family, the darshan was so blissful, and elating. if you are visiting kovai, do not miss out this temple. important things:-buy all the necessary offering things like garlands, viboothi etc. before u start climbing because, the rates on the hill is pretty high.-if you are going as a family carry food with you, after darshan you can sit out and enjoy the lovely landscapes.-people of kovai are known for being respectful to outsiders, they are always ready to help and guide you.-mind the beggars and bogus gurujis along the path of the mountain if you are climbing, dont fall for their cons.-a pay trip from the foot hills of the mountain to reach the top of the mountain is available
It is very nice place to see.Newly builded rajagopuram looking awesome. But one thing to say kindly avoid this paid dharshans at festival times.
its must visiting one of the place in coimbatore, as you ,know its lord muruga's one of the favourite house, and you feel very good.
Powerful temple.Good atmosphere particularly in early morning.By walk is excellent.I like the Almighty and the location.I have no dislike.
One of the many religious hot spots in the city. Lord Muruga is the deity here. The drive to the hillock is also a scenic one. Enjoy a beautiful view of the city from the hillock.
