It was a wonderful experience. I like to go there for darshan again. I liked everything there especiallyTemple, samadisthan. I did not like to stand in the queue for long time.
We went at around 7.30 pm for darshan. We had to stand in the line for about an hour or so,but the line was moving quickly.Had enough time to stand in front of the god and pray.
While i was with my son in law in Bangluru,he suggested a pilgrimage to Shirdi for me and my wife. Knowing my reluctance to move out of my house in Delhi, he booked for the whole trip!My wife informed me about the trip just two days before departure and i had to comply! We traveled to Pune from Delhi by Sampark kranti express and from Pune traveled to Shirdi by Mumai-Shirdi fast passenger and reached our destination at 11.30 am. A taxi from the lodge where we booked our accommodation picked us from the railway station. We stayed at Shirdi for four days and some of 'do's and' don't's are as follows.Karnataka express from Delhi passes through Kopergaon which is the nearest point to Shirdi. from koper gaon Shirdi can be reached by share autos and taxies and the distance is 20 kms.We paid Rs3000/ for four days stay at the Delta Executive lodge but the A/c,non A/C rooms of shirdi saibaba sansthan trust cost only Rs500/and 200/ respectively. Full meal at Prasadalay and the temple cost only Rs10/ and Rs40/.Coffee,tea and milk cost only Rs3/ and 2/ respectively! v.i.p Dharshan ticket of Baba cost Rs100/ and ticket for morning arti cost Rs500/ and afternoon and night arti Rs300/(only on line booking is made for arti (www.sai.org.in) the temple authorities also offer free bus service from their lodge to temple and prasadalay.Food at the Shridi town hotels are spicy. People add raw chilli powder to their food. Also they like highly sweetened tea and add lots of salt to their food. The famous sani dev mandir is 77 kms from Shiridi. Also one can visit Aurangabad for ellora caves and Threkambeshwar temple at Nasik. One word of caution. Like most of pilgrim centers, this place is also full of touts, thieves and beggars.

If you are an NRI, you can get an express entry pass with a fee of Rs 100 to 600 (INR) - this may be revised from time to time. You need to show the valid identity for the same like Passport or a PR card/ documents, etc.You need take the documents and to go to the PRO office near the gate no.2 personally and get the pass. There would be a queue for this where all other passes are also provided, so don;t think if no one is there to clarify just join in he queue. You should be out in 15 mins to 30 mins with the pass. One person (Indian citizen or any other citizen) can accompany this NRI with the express entyr pass for the darshan. After getting the pass you go inside the temple and there would be a gate specific for these guys to join in the queue. It should take not more than 30 mins or less than an hour so it would save a lot of time.
I have been visiting Shirdi since childhood ..many occasions. With Family friends and now with my Own family of wife and daughter. It really fees great and calm at Baba's Shirdi Sansthan Temple. Being vivid Devotee of Sai Baba I try N visit Shirdi Every year.
Sai sansthan manages the affairs of the Samadhi Mandir,Gurusthaan,Dwarakamayi and chavadi. For the benefit of the pilgrims Sansathan provides many, residential Accomodation for the pilgrims to stay in Shirdi during their visit.Provides food at subsidized, free food for the pilgrims.Manages Sai Nath a multi speciality hospital, higher secondary, middle schools, colleges. What' a great work undertaken by Shirdi Sai Sansthaan is very commendable.
Oasis of peace is what we can describe Sai Sansthan temple in Shirdi as. This is also the final resting place of this great saint who lived in the late 19th and early 20th century. Even now exists Chavadi and Dwarkamai from the times of Saibaba.
~*~OmSaiRam~*~I have been visiting Shirdi Saibaba Temple since last 20 Years now and I do visit atleast once a year. It gives me divine eternal pleasure and peace of mind whenever I go there. There are many times in the year, like New Year, Guru Purnima, Diwali and some other festival times and Weekends when the Temple is crowded a lot and it takes a lot of time in the queue and very less time to pray inside the temple. So I mostly prefer to go during the weekdays and when there are no other Holidays or Festivals. On such days the temple is less crowded as compared to the Holidays and we get enough time inside the temple to Pray.Darshan -The best time to go for Darshan is around 20-25 minutes before the Morning/Afternoon or Evening Arti so that you get a chance to be inside the Temple Hall for a longer time. They close the Doors of the Hall during the Arti (which is almost for 30 minutes) and people inside the Hall stay inside and others in the queue are outside.Travel - Own vehicle recommendedIf you stay in Mumbai or Pune, you can choose to go by your own vehicle since its pretty convenient and you can even visit nearby places like Shani Shingnapur and save yourself from bumpy rides to Shani Shingnapur (if you choose to go to) by those over crowded local Cabs (Tata Sumo / Armada / Bolero or other local Vehicles)Stay - Bhakt Niwas with prior booking recommendedThe Hotels/Lodge around the temple are not that good and you may be disappointed if you choose to stay in one of those Hotels. However there are some good Hotels at some (longer) distance from the Temple and they charge anywhere around Rs. 2000/Night for a Double Bed Room. But if you go for Bhakt Niwas (and there are AC Rooms too) you may get it at around Rs. 500/night.Make sure you do the online booking of Bhakt Niwas so that you can book the rooms if you are planning for a trip in advance. Food - Dhabas and Garden Restaurants on the way recommended Again don't go for Restaurants around the Temple, instead try some Dhabas or Garden Restaurants outside the City.Last but not least... enjoy your trip and have a nice time at Shirdi!!!
Shirdi Sai Baba. Best time for entry for darshan according to me during weekend was 10:15 am. Reached exactly at 12 noon aarti.
Visited lord said during the 26th Jan long weekend. Rush was enormous and online bookings were also closed by the sanstan. However , we visited the temple early morning at 6.45 am and hence we wrapped up the darshan in an hour. The issue that bothered me the most was that despite 26thjJan, there was no security check through the entire process. Any one could have carried anything inside the premises. But may be sai babas' blessings are enough to keep such threats away. One should always enter from gate no 2, it being the closest. On Sai ram!
It was very surprising that anyone who paid Rs.100 per person extra got VIP passes for Darshan and got an entry from a different gate so that a large part of the que was bypassed. The crowd management within the main prayer hall, where the murti is installed, is quite poor and one is barely allowed half a minute before being either pushed out or asked to move on.The floor and the passages / staircases can also be kept cleaner by periodically cleaning them at short intervals.
I was here in the starting of January 2015 with my family (total 4 people). We went to this place by SNSI kkd shirdi train and got down at shirdi railway station by 9.30 AM on Tuesday. From railway station to Sai Ashram Bhaktha Niwas by free bus service provided by the Sai Temple trust (First stop is Temple, second stop is Sai Bhktha Niwas( Name I am not sure), and last stop is Sai Ashram Bhaktha Niwas). Directly we went to the office by 10.00 AM and showed the print out of the online room reservation and even though we have room reservation from 11.00 AM we got keys by 10.00 AM. Aftergetting fresh up came outside and had breakfast then we started to Shani Signapur at 11.30 AM by car (when we came out there were so many drivers asking us to hire a car we choose one person and he was a nice driver and we paid 1100 Rs for to and fro to shani signapur). On the way to signapur there are many sugar cane juice shops, I would recommend to take one glass. The temple is so nice. We reached back to Shiridi by 5.00 PM. We took our first sai dharshan and we finished it in 2 hours. In the next day we went to Nashik and triambakam (we hire another car for 2100 Rs). We came back to shirdi by around 5.00 PM and again we went to sai dhrshan for 2nd time. In the third day (thursday) morning we went sai dharshan for 3rd time and finished it by 10.00 AM and took the luggage from the room and hire a car to aurangabad (Greeshmeswar Temple, Yellora caves and mini Tajmahal) for 2100 Rs. And finally we got down at aurangabad railway station by 6.00 PM and we took our return journey. Finally we all are happy to see all these places. Thanks for reading my review and I wish you have a nice trip and nice dharshan....
