The snow is perfect -white, fresh and perfect. Free access to the park and we enjoy the free tube slide facilities. A lot of free facilities - winter clothes, locker, toilet, mini zoo, tube slide, and family slope for beginner to learn how to ski. No ski instructor at all, ski facilities are available for rent at a affordable price. A lot of local and some tourist too. It was far away from town, travel time from Sapporo Jr station is around 1 hour with subway + local bus. Last bus depart from the part is at 3.30pm and the park close at 4pm, go early and you can easily spend a day just lying on the snow!

There is one, and only one, wide and mild slope for the first-time skier. It's a very good starting point for them to learn basic skiing skill There is another slope for sitting in a big tire and sliding down. It's a lot of fun for the toddlers (below 4 years old).

Slide, Slide, Slide I really love it even it's not too easy to go by yourself. If you don't have ski equipments with, you can rent there. Full of kids and family. Feel like I am one of Japanese.

Lovely skiing on groomed tracks with beautiful scenery and excellent amenities though only 6 trails and the shorter trails are part of the longer.Easy access with public transport taking the Nambuka line to Makomanai station, turn left after exiting and catch the 106 (has recently changed from the 102) to Takino Sururan Park. Buses leave at 0845, 0945, 1045 and 1145. Last bus back is at 1528 Travel time on subway from Sapporo to Makomanai station is 19 minutes and bus travel is 40 minutes. In the park there are 3 stops. Though the mention cross country skiing to the frozen water falls on the first stop, wait until the last and get off there. At the bus stop is a stone building with toilets, out the back are the trails. the building has lockers for gear.there is a restaurant and japan style fast food, all cash no credit cards.bus fare is 440 yen each way (there are 100yen cash change machine on the buses)the all day subway and bus ticket does not work on the bus you will need to pay an extra 390 yen for the bus. we bought all day subway ticket 850 and paid the bus fare of 440.there is a small waxing room near the bus stop. power , a bench but no other facilities BYO

Glide along a snowy forest to a part-frozen waterfall, spot birds and squirrels - all just in the southern suburbs of Sapporo. Adults Y820, Kids Y520 for "aruku ski"/cross country skis and poles, and then explore one of the many courses in the park. We did the 5 km course at the bottom of the hill to the two waterfalls. And at the central point there is a log cabin restaurant with a wood fire and bowls of curry/ramen. Access from Makomonai Subway Station and the bus ride (25 mins) right into the park. NOTE - you can only rent big shoe sizes at the top of the park lodge, the rental counter at the bottom only has up to size 27. You could do the same course with snow shoes which are free! The park lodge also has winter clothes to rent if you feel chilly. Limited English info available.

A great place for kids to spend a whole day, although it needs to take subway and then 35 min. bus to get there. Drive by yourself is a better option. It is worth for sure!

The park is full of fun for the kids. Though there was rain on the day that we visited, there was indoor playground and our 3-year old boy loved it. There was ropes that formed the webs where the boy can climb and jump. Even in the cafés, there are corners filled with toys for the kids.It takes 30 minutes from JR Station to Makomanai station by subway. Then another 30 minutes by bus (no102) to the park. The main entrance is on the last bus stop. The last bus departs from the park at around 4:30pm.We have fun there. We will definitely come again and will bring our younger son as we'll.

So wonderful that most activities are free. The staff and facilities were very pleasant. As an experienced skiier we chose not to downhill ski but enjoyed the sledding fun. Beautiful!! Not too far from downtown Sapporo but so worth the trip.

talll_girl

I was going to go sledding, but did not make it because the buses do not run frequently. The public bus from the Makomanai subway station departs 45 mins after each hour to Takino Snow World. The last bus from Takino Snow World back to Makomanai subway departs at 3:28 PM. Once on the bus, the stops are clearly announced and posted on a sign inside the bus. The bus will take you directly into the Takino Snow Park. It was a beautiful bus ride.
