When you are very used to a place you think of other things that you can do so as not to get bored. Or try of thinking about places that are less crowded ("La Presa traffic" will take you 2-4 hours to get to the famous Forevermore site and Cafe in the Sky). Hell yeah I already visited all the famous tourist attractions around (Camp John Hay, Mines View, The Mansion, Wright Park, PMA, Burnham, Strawberry Farm, Bell Church, several thrift shops and the night market, Baguio Cathedral, Session Road, Maryknoll Santuary, name it). I spent my college years in Baguio but visiting the Old Diplomat Hotel never came to my mind because of the haunted stories that I hear around. Upon laying my eyes to this place, seeing it up close, I immediately fell in love with it, old, rustic, picture perfect! It's a haven for picture-taking, the surroundings, the flowers in bloom, I was at one of highest peak of Baguio! I would love to go back here, feel like a model and take lots of pictures again!

This Old Diplomat Hotel is known for being "Haunted", stories told about this place about a priest and a nun haunting this place. This stories attracted Ghost Hunters...Apparently this place is being renovated, having a museum inside. I am glad they are bringing this place back to life...it deserve another chance. The scenery around it is wonderful and access to the place is easy. A must go place not for Ghost Hunting..but to see the sights.

Diplomat Hotel is a 2-storey structure, abandoned and in ruins. But it did tell a story of how it was built towards the abandonment. The gallery was quite informative. What chills me is that I always felt that something was watching me while walking around.Interesting place to visit at night.

An old abandoned hotel, decaying away, great for photos and views of baguio, the feeling is amazing.Take a taxi up to the location.

The hotel is placed on a fantastic location, offering a 360 degree view of Baguio City. It is a real shame that it has been abandoned for so long. It is now being rented out for parties and weddings, and one could hope that someone will give it its glory back some dayOnly the ground floor is open to visit, too bad the second floor cannot be accessed, but is likely for safety precautions. The site is open from 8:00 to 17:00, there are no entry fees and you can stay as long as you like. People have reported ghost sightings, but it is likely just an urban legend. Anyone is free to believe what they want. Some Tripadvisors have reported problems with a guard, but we saw nobody there (we came at 8:00).The way to the hotel is not clearly marked through the city, we got "lost" using Waze and had to ask the locals for directions. The hotel is located on top of the Dominican Hill, atop from the Lourdes Grotto. This is a recommended visit when in Baguio City.

In 1913, the Dominican order started to build the structure as a retreat house and in 1915 it was inaugurated. Later the Dominicans started a school but closed after 2 years. In 1973 it was sold and became Diplomat Hotel it was renovated but retained the facade it was operated by Tony Agpaoa who is also a faith healer and his patients are also the guest of the 33 bedrooms hotel. He died of a heart attack in 1987 and the hotel also ceased operations. The place later has been labelled as haunted, maybe due to the people who died during the war and patients who died in faith healing sessions. The view on top is beautiful and see almost all of the city of Baguio. Inside the building you will experience an eerie sudden gust of cold air but maybe because the structure is made of stone and delapitated... Once inside you would be able to imagine how majestic this place during its time.

Structure from the outside is beautiful even though it's old already. Inside, I believe they are maintaining the garden area. The plants are green. Rooms on the first floor are being stocked up with this kind of wood. I think they make wooden chairs, tables, and doors from that place. Upon entering the door where you will go up to the second floor, the guard was like, "Alis! Alis! Di pwede dito umakyat. May nag sh-shooting dito." That was rude. He can say that in a nice way. Then he shut the door, and locked it. I saw a lot of people in the second floor. When I saw that a group of people were going down, we were able to go up to the second floor. I went inside the rooms, checked out the bathrooms, tiles are still attached but incomplete. Hallway was scary. Corner room where it should be the fireplace is beautiful. Going up the third floor, the rude guard said that we cannot enter. The person with me talked to him, and he decided to let us in. Third floor, the top floor, doesn't have a roof. It's open. I took a peek who was taking the photos for this so-called shooting, no model, no other people, he was taking a selfie of himself, and his girlfriend! The nerve. Anyway, I will only go back here if there's nothing to do in Baguio anymore.

When we arrived at the Old Diplomat Hotel, there was a pre-nup shoot going on and a few tourists checking the place out. There's not much on the ground floor inside. There is a gated staircase leading to the unrenovated floors of the building. Unfortunately, it was locked and I couldn't find anyone in charge so I can ask why.We went around the place, checking the outside as well. The moment we stepped out, the fog started to envelope the whole place which definitely gave it an extra eerie feel. The place is amazing except for the fact that it's hard to get to and to leave. No worries about leaving though because you can walk a bit outside and there are jeepneys passing by that goes right back into the city.

This place is one of the most haunting place you can visit. I think it was a hotel, but it was bombed. Unfortunately even though its a tourist attraction, it wasnt really conserved or maintained. I think they're trying to preserve its ambiance. Its best to come here at sunset! They close at 5pm, but when we arrived at 5:30, we were allowed to go inside.

I took my family here last week since we're just a kilometer away from this site, were at Lourdes Grotto. The hotel still projects a once era that we lived with the Spaniards. It would be great if the organization that maintains the area will hire tour guides that would help the tourist appreciate the hotel. Overall the ruins of once a beautiful hotel would be a great location for pre-nup shoots or anything about 'rustic' themed photoshoot.

We've visited this place several times and conducted ghodt hunting at night twice ( when there are still no guardat the gate, they didn't started renovating the place)It is true that as you've enter the gate during at night, you can feel that there is something in this place. I saw countless white lady in this building especially in the left part of the building ( facing the entrance). Also if you are in the middle just standing (in the fountain area) you can feel that someone is looking at you from the second floor). It isalso eerie in the chapel area of the hotel. If you plan to visit this hotel in the morning, from the hotel, you can have a 180 degrees view of Baguio. Since there is no jeepney around and a very few taxi plying there, you can ask the taxi to wait for you if you plan to stay there in just a couple of minutes. Before you go to this place, pray first and remember to respect the place even if you don't see ghosts/spirits roaming around.

We actually entered Pink Sisters on our GPS, but were accidentally lead to this destination. We never regretted it though. We have all been to Baguio a number of times, but never have we ever visited this place. The view is spectacular. The history behind ruins is also an interesting tidbit. Moreover, not a lot of people know about this place. Makes it more worth the trip.

If you are young and adventurous with your friend, try visist this place at night,Diplomat hotel is actually a run down building atop the mountain, just atop Lourdes Grotto, many horror movies are made in this place, even at daytime one might feel chilly in this place, not for family with small kids, beware.

First, please drop by the church that Is right inside the compound of the hotel, the "caretaker" will lead a prayer for protection just in case the spirits get hostile, nice lady though. The first time I went there I was prevented by the guard who was on duty who rudely casted us out. The next day, I came done some prayers and of course took some pictures. It's a shame that I went in the morning that it prevented me from exploring it in the dark, the 2nd floor is now blocked, the same floor that a "dark man" was caught on camera by a group of tourist (see it in youtube). The hotel is said to be once a seminary then the Japanese came and used it as their base, they said that the Japanese massacred priests, nuns, fleeing civilians in that said hotel, after the war and incurring damages the seminary was turned into a hotel, a faith healer owned this place back in the day (forgot his name) and he died back in 1982, since then the hotel was abandoned. Citizens near the hotel tell stories that they can hear celebrations, cries for help, banging of doors inside the facility (but the doors, windows and the hotel is abandoned for years except from occasional visits from Ghost hunters and spirit questers). I have to say that I captured a ghost photo here, the place is eerie the moment you step at the gates. Please proceed with caution and prayer. If you're in a group where you know you will be protected then by all means stay for God knows how long.

It used to be a vacation house and a seminary way back in 1911. As it was established by Dominican friars, the place was it was constructed came to be known as Dominican Hill. During World War II, fleeing refugees stayed here. Japanese Forces later bombed the entire place resulting to an extensive damage. It was then reconstructed in 1947. In 1973 it became part of Diplomat Hotel properties and had its interior remodelled into a 33-bedroom hotel while keeping its unique personality as when it was with the Dominican friars. Was managed by Tony Agpaoa, a Baguio-based spiritual healer. Since his death, the hotel ceased its operation and was closed to the public.
