Well I thought the place is going to be really massive as in colossal! But I guess tourist are only allowed to sand surf in one area.We were a group of 13 and one of us is from Ilocos Norte so she did all the talking so they won't charge us much. The ride is about Php 2500 and can only sit (or stand) four people so we just opted to surf and paid Php1000 for unli sand surfing until our legs ache because its so tiring to climb again and again.Everyone should try this! It's not really dangerous but they will make you sign a waiver.

I loved how the driver the sandboarding guide are experts in taking photos. They would give you right direction like a pro! They could even properly use an SLR that has manual focus.

If you love extreme 4x4 adventures, doing it at La Paz Sand Dunes is the best. It has higher slopes compared to Paoay's which makes your 4x4 ride an all-time screaming ride. I'm telling you, even the guys screamed when we were there.

We had a ride with a 4X4. We were 3 people standing up in the back side and the guy take us to the dunes. It is ok some of strolls was really breathtaking. Generally if you already tried this in Sahara in Egypt, is smaller and poor. If not,it is ok!

Sand boarding and the 4wd ride sure is fun. Just be ready to split the bill. Hahahha. There are mini stores that sell halo2x and other refreshments

This is the highlight of my tour in Ilocos. It's like being in the middle east! We were charged 2500 per 4x4 and it was worth it. Much like riding a roller coaster on big wheels and we rode at the back, standing up for maximum thrill. There were high sand dunes and the driver will go up then speed down the hill and it was really exciting! The view was breathtaking as there was a view of the sea at the highes point. Keep your gadgets and hats secure as it is bery bumpy and windy that you might drop it. We also did sandboarding and it was fun and unforgettable. Dont forget to bring your GoPro!

The place isn't that far.For a 4x4 jeep, it would fit one in the front beside the driver, and probably around 4 to 5 persons at the back standing and holding on to the rail. The trip would have been more fun if it were longer and had more downhill slopes.\After the jeep ride, the package also includes unlimited sandboarding. You can either sit on the board solo, by pair, or for the brave ones, you can do it standing. Of course, if you fall, it isn't really dangerous because the sand is quite a soft place to land. For a total package fee of P2500, this is definitely one of Laoag's pride of attraction.

Highlight of our trip! Family enjoyed this experience.... peeps operating those 4x4's knew what had to be done to make their guests ecstatically happy!Shouting, shrieking and laughing echoing along the vast acres of endless SAAAAAAAND.... our family of four created so much noise during the uphill and downhill drive....It'll be hard to match this activity....Great job and our hats off to the entreprenuers who figured this'll work!!!

Definitely a MUST when you go to Ilocos Norte. It's a one of a kind adventure that will make your adrenaline spike up. The place is a few mins drive from the City's capital... U can always ask for directions from everyone. We were accommodated by the the group of Randolph, they are the best 4x4 drivers for me so far! They even pulled out our car when we got stuck in the sand. Their monster trucks are well maintained plus they always look after your safety.

This is the most enjoyable part of our Ilocandia tour! The SAND DUNES in Laoag! For PHP2,500, my family of four were able to enjoy the sand dunes for one (1) hour. That's the regular fare for four however if you are only two or three just negotiate and asked for a discount so you could avail their 4x4 ride and the sand boarding. If you haven't experience this attraction yet you would think that it is quite pricey for just an hour. However, when you were already there and having so much fun, you'll never regret spending that amount because of the adventure, fun and experience. Pure adrenalin rush truly comes in! When we rode the 4x4 jeep from their station, the first fer minutes was just an ordinary ride passing barren area of sands but later my stomach started to crawl and I almost cried out of protest when I saw we were on the high slope and would pass the rough and stiff area by going down below. The driver told us to hold tight and enjoy the ride. I was telling my husband to stop and never try that kind of dangerous adventure. But my husband and my sons were so excited and wanted to experience that so I just closed my eyes and shouted my fear! But it turned out to be so much fun! The driver and his assistant were so skilled. After that, my fear turned into excitement and couldn't wait for another rough ride! The sand boarding was another unique experience. You don't have to worry whether you fall down or tumble because you'll just land on the sand. You'll never get hurt that much unless you do some somersault and wring your neck! Even you know nothing about sand boarding it will be easy. Just stand still in the board and let your body and the wind glide you down. The guide will instruct you on how to do it. I tell you when you try it, once is not enough! You'll definitely request for more. Don't ever let your fear conquer you or you'll never experience having so much fun for an hour. No worries at all. Tidbit: this place was the location site for the films Panday, Himala and other Filipino films where vast coverage of sands were featured. Best time to come here is early morning or late afternoon to avoid the super hot sun and the heat emitted from the sand. Wear rubber shoes and bring lots of water to keep you hydrated. And never ever forget to bring your camera! We've done museum and church hopping, tasted authentic Ilocano food, visited major attraction sites of the Ilocos region but still these were all uncomparable to the excitement and thrill we've experienced during our visit to Laoag's Sand Dunes! Aside from the 4x4 ride and sand boarding, the beach along the shore is quite fascinating. It's an open sea probably not good for swimming but you'll be mesmerized by it. To sum it all, the sand boarding and 4x4 ride were the most unforgettable experiences during our Ilocos tour!

It was soooo fun...Haggling is very essential if you only travel by two. Good thing I was kinda good at it. We were given a chance to do the 4x4 with a sand boarding for just P1.6. It was arrange for just 30 mins but it turned out to be about an hour. It was a great and unforgettable experience.

It's more like you're in a dessert kinda feeling. So we rent a 4x4 jeep just to experience the sandunes has to offer!. At first the ride was smooth and no sign of excitement, but wait until you will be on the peak of the sand, adrenaline rush is all over me it feels like riding on a roller coaster without a meta trail haha!. I can't stop screaming and shouting. It really scares me to death, but it was fun!.

Monarose

This activity costs P2,500 for one hour, maximum of four people. It was totally fun and worth it!!!!
