This is my second time to visit the Bell Tower, but this is the first time that I actually got inside. I can say that this bell tower is really old, and you can see the panoramic view of the town when you climb at the topmost of the bell tower.

From a far view it is just a simlple tower but when locals started talking to you they take you a different side of the bell tower through trick shots. It was fun indeed to play with different things you can do while outside the tower. Once you you get inside and reach the 3rd floor of the tower you'll be amazed with the view of seeing the whole Vigan from the Top or you can just take a pose with the Great Bell.

The bell tower is worth a trip if staying in Vigan. It is a short walk but you can also take a calesa as it appears to be on their tourist route. The view from the top is great and the grounds have obviously been tidied up since some of the other reviewers were here, we saw many signs about not littering and using bins. The nearby chapel in the ruins is also worth a visit.

Ok this is a trike ride away from the main area but is a must do. There are a few stairs to climb but a wonderful view all over Vigan and such a nice breeze to accompany the scenery.

worth seeing and worth climbing...the climb is a bit tough, as the stairways are a bit steep and the bell towers top floor can only accommodate 12 person at the time...reasonable since the floor is only made of wood and might fall if it will carry much weight...the old bells will make you nostalgic, as the tower sees the town, and will make you imagine how it was before.

Indeed an amazing sight to behold even from afar. Never thought it was that huge until I came and saw it myself. They say it used to serve as the city's watchtower so people of the olden times can easily see if they on-coming enemies.Truly magnificent.. An site attraction that a visitor can't afford to miss.

It's not that high but I dislike heigts. Its also dark inside so you can't see the stairs and a lot of people wanted to go up but the structure is so poor people may die.I hope the government will restore it.I love the church beside the Bantay Tower. You may want to visit it too and look at the SHapel by the Ruins and their local museum.

Situated just outside the main town it is well worth a visit on your way in or out of the city. It is an easy climb but worth waiting for it to empty to get the best photo opportunities and to avoid trying to cross on the upper staircase which is quite steep and very cramped. A wonderful heritage site and great photo opportunities.

The Bantay Bell Tower is an attraction that should never be missed. To miss it would do great injustice to Ilocos. The bell tower sits atop a hill and from the bell tower you will be awarded with a spectacular view of the surrounding areas.

It was my first time visiting this place. And it was night time when we went there. We didn't get to go up. So we just took pictures from below. I'm not trying to brag but when my friend asked me to take a picture, I saw something behind her by the gate. Even she noticed and said "even if u saw something, just take the picture" I took. Then when it was my turn, I felt someone looking at me. Then when we got to the vigan fountain, to watch the dancing fountain during Christmas, we looked at the camera. And we saw the "thing" mine was looking from above, while my friend's one was standing behind her. People. Do not go to the clock tower during dark. If u want to then its up to u. This is not a prank. This is real

The Bantay Bell Tower offers visitors a great look at one of the more prominent heritage sites in Vigan. Climb all the way to the top for excellent pictures.

It was only 1000 when we climbed this 1591 structure but already quite hot.The guide was friendly. The wooden floor at the top of the internal stairs creaks somewhat which accounts for the numbers on it being monitored. The bells are beautiful and the belltower imposing. This is the real history of Philippines: the wonderful work of in this case Augustinians evangalising the community. There was a wedding on at the nearby St Augustine Church. There is no fee but everyone donates.I did not notice any rubbish. We combined this with a most enjoyable, inexpensive calesa ride with a pleasant driver who did nit rip us off.

Great view at the top of the Bell Tower. You will also feel how old the tower is as you feel the woodworks creak while you walk around. :)Visit either during the sunrise or sunset, and when there are no people around. It's quite hot during the day (no covered path way) and the tower can only hold a very limited number of people at a time. They ask for donations at the entrance as well. It would be great if someone guides the tourists to tell them of its history though.Worth a visit, and a picture or two.

It has a small pathway upstairs so my head bumped on it. It really hurts. Though, worth it! The sun was up so its so hot when we get there. Better go in the morning.

It might be difficult to go up the stairs and the bell tower can only accommodate a certain number of people at a time so you have to be patient and wait your turn. Patience has its reward as the view from the top is picture-worthy.
