What a nice experience. A serene and clean sandy place in the middle of the two land mass. Between the mainland of Davao and the island of Samal just close to Davao City. A very nice place to swim high tide or low tide. There is the raft that one can rely on for a rest. was enjoying my stay. Not scared at all.

I live in Samal Island and it has been a normal routine to enjoy the serenity of the place everytime I go home for holidays. My recent visit (august), was different this time. WE coordinated our trip to the brgy. officer of Tambo to help us plant mangrove (10 pesos each seedling), they are authorize by DENR to assist people in preserving and protecting the sanctuary. Yes it is a sanctuary, a protected area! The best time to go there is LOW TIDE to enjoy the mangrove planting. You can walk around the island and enjoy the clear water...The best part will be when it is really low tide because more areas can be explored. Be concious of the changes of the water because when it starts to rise (high tide) some areas easily vanished!WE had so much fun be it high or low tide! the bonus will be fishermen with fresh catch and you can have your grilled fish or kinilaw (if you are prepared for the ingridients). When it is high tide, be prepared to experience a variety of fish that will come close to the island...Definitely no littering in the island! Remember it is a sanctuary, a marine protected area! Let's help by planting mangrove in the island!

The beach is nice but i was expecting more of the place. I thought the infinity pool is very wide but it is not in person. the service is very slow. however, the bathroom is clean.

We had a lot of swimming from different beaches and this one I should say is one of the best....white sand beach...in the middle of the sea/river.....we went there in the morning so the water was up to knee to belly-deep....water was so clean!..Even just for an hour of stay...as if I swam for the whole day! Funtastic!

I've been to many islands but only the vanishing island has the biggest star fish I've seen so far. I bought a snorkeling gear just for this trip and I'm just okay with what I've seen. Nothing much to see but seaweeds, grass and starfish.

you need to know if its low tide otherwise there's nothing to do there besides swimming. No nice corals for snorkeling also. No cottages or tables where you can sit & eat. No entrance fee.

my friends and i stayed at the japanese cave house at camudmud. the caretaker there told us about the vanishing island. he took us there via a fishing boat.hahaha! we enjoyed it so much there that i didn't let the chance of capturing moments pass us by even to the point of risking my dslr.hahaha! it was a great experience, especially when our colleagues were wowed by our photos at that place. i want to go back there!

It has to be at the right time on the day otherwise there is nothing special about the place, talk to a local boatman to make arrangement about the perfect timing

In high tide this island vanishes. You rent a boat going there in precious garden of samal. This hotel is in front of vanishing island. Nice white sand good for picture taking.

April 21, 2012 is the day that I planted five (5) Mangrove tree seedlings in Sanipaan Marine Park in Vanishing Island after which we enjoyed swimming. The place is so nice and amazing because the Vanising Island in the middle of the sea. If it is low tide, the sand bar will come out and you can enjoy walking, meet the starfishes, hermit crabs, sea worms which looks like snakes, sea urchin and many more. There is an area which is owned by the Government and the other areas are privately owned. But if you would like to go there, try to call and book at precious Garden Resort.

We rented a little boat from the water off the bat sanctuary for 500p. It was good for the whole day. When we arrived at the vanishing island it was already mostly under water, but still fun to swim around and explore. Some other people had brought a boat with shade and food - what a great idea to spend the day there.
