Another thing to look forward when traveling to CDO is thrill that nature brings when you visit this place. But you will be wowed if you really love the scenery, the thrills of horseback riding and of course the waterfalls. I wish there was enough time to take a dip on the cool waters. It's another experience to look forward too. When you plan your trip to CDO, do not forget to visit this place it sure makes your trip worthwhile.
Good experience with nature. Enough staff to ensure our safety, and is willing to take photos and videos using our own cameras. Really safe even if you cannot swim at all.
I went there with my friends to eat our pack lunch. It was peaceful, so peaceful. We were the only guest that time. And there were only a few staff around and they weren't that hospitable but it was okay, we still enjoyed the view, the clean air, the poor caged monkey, and the obstacle course for kids. We cpuld see then that the park was still being developed. I do hope I'd be able to come back here in the future, with my crazy friwnds again. :D
Nice place to visit and drink buko juice. trails go up and down good exercise. nice partial view of the city.
This place is awesome! It's 30 mins away from CDO proper. River trekking is highly suggested for those who want to receive their daily adrenaline shot. The place is quiet and clean. Food served along with the river trekking package is superb! The road to the park is a minor set back considering the kind f adventure awaiting you as you start the trek.
Experienced Mapawa Nature Park's bone and muscles stretching activities. It offers series of interesting "not your typical sight - seeing park" adventure. Make sure when you go there you bring a waterproof camera, extra clothes, extra slippers and do not wear any jewelries as it may get lost. My sister lost her flip flops when we jumped on the 25 ft. cliff.
I had a wonderful run here last December; though, the roads up to that place are being repaired at the moment. I´ve visited Mapawa Nature Park also last year in April and enjoyed horseback-riding a lot!
"I haven't done trekking", "I haven't been working out", or "I don't know how to swim" were some of my travel buddies' worries before we decided to include Canyoneering in our itinerary. We continued to encourage each one, read blogs and reviews. It turned out to be a worry-free adventure after all. The guides were helpful and the site was already set to make the activity easier for first timers.
It must have been a case of bad timing because it appears like they were doing simultaneous major repairs all over the place when we visited. First off, the roads were being paved and to say that the ride was bumpy would be an understatement. Then when you reach the center of the nature park, there was hardly any activity and there was practically no one you could talk to about what you can do. They do have a man-made pool and another where the water comes from a natural spring, both of which are very inviting. However, you'd be hesitant to swim since nobody seems to be around. There also appears to be facilities for rapelling and a zipline, but these were both unmanned. The place is big, naturally beautiful and has tremendous potential. Hopefully, after they fully develop it, they would also hire good, customer-friendly and knowledgeable staff.
It's quite a drive up to the nature park and the roads are quite bumpy in some spots but you have some beautiful views in spots and some amazing trees and nature. You are going fairly far into the mountains, at least because of the winding roads. The park isn't spectacular by any means but it is a nice little place to visit whether with the family, alone, or with a buddy. There are some zip lines, repelling, horseback riding, obstacle course, basketball and other small attractions and a pool. Then plenty of mountainous forest and trails to keep you busy for hours. Camping etc. It's truly nature without a doubt. All in all, if you like nature, check it out. If your not so much into nature or a small adventure, maybe it's not really your cup of tea and you better find something more suitable. It isn't for everyone that's for sure.
The scene is bloody wonderful. I have been to such many resorts and have seen so many scenarios of nature but I just gotta say that Mapawa is such a great fun experience. You get to go to this one way trip. YES. You have to undergo every single challenge of nature for you to get home. They tell you this first, of course. The first challenge is a small waterfall that leads to a very cold lake. Then after that, you go practice a little bit of rappelling against a strong current of water when you go down but it's not that deep. And then, you jump from the edge of a big rock towards another large cold body of water. It was so cool! I kind of panic because I was in the air for a long time so my feet was already searching for some kind of a strong foundation or something. But remember to think before you jump but do not think too long or you won't jump at all! The last challenge is the rappelling down from the long falls. The people there are kind and entertaining. The workers are very much supportive and very careful with their customers. Then they served us free lunch. MAPAWA was such a fun experience. I had fun watching my parents enjoy most. Hahaha. Well, to wrap it up let me just say - GO TO MAPAWA!
I can see most people here give 5 stars, its lack of maintenance. we did some horseback riding, it was good and cheap. zipline good too, but can be dangerous if you are too heavy, and I am only 90 kilos.
I will definitely go back!If you come in a small group of two (like me) each of you will ride a horse going to the waterfall trails. If you will come in larger group, they have a special ride for you. You will get to experience sliding on a waterfall, rapelling on a mini-waterfall, cliff jumping, and rapelling on anither waterfall. (See photos attached). It is quite cheaper to go in a big group, but even if you go alone and pay the price for the whole trail, I am telling you, the experience is worth it. The package also includes lunch (mine was rice abd chicken adobo) which you will surely finish quickly because you will get tired after going through the waterfall trail. Go ahead, challenge yourself, go to Mapawa.
My friend and I really enjoyed the zip line here and the mini waterfall. The staff (especially the zip line guys) were really nice and helpful.
I liked everything about Mapawa. I liked the kind of adventure they provide their guests. Our group took their river trek package. We used a waterfall as a slide, we jumped off at the edge of a 25-foot waterfall and rappel ourselves down the 65-foot waterfall. The experience is superb simply put. The people here are also very nice and accommodating. Our guide was funny and gave tips on how to overcome our fears in doing all the challenges. Not to mention, that he also took pictures for us the whole time although he's not really required to do so. This is one hell of an adventure you don't want to miss. Highly recommended.
