Hopefully you can have someone tell you the history as it is very interesting. They have a nice museum along with going into the buildings. You can walk the grounds and look in all the buildings.

A must see place at the Isla de la Juventud. The former prison, where also Fidel and Raul Castro have been imprisoned, is now a museum surronded by the huge, round buildings, where several thousand people where jailed before the revolution.

Ir mergulhar na Isla de la Juventud é especial não apenas pela natureza, mas também pela oportunidade de visitar o Presídio. Pouquissimas pessoas vão até lá e quando fomos só tínhamos eu e meu marido. Foi maravilhoso, pudemos caminhar, andar, abrir e fechar portas sozinhos. Tínhamos um morador de lá nos acompanhando e contando a história. Mas é para ir logo porque existem projetos de reforma e aí não será mais a mesma coisa. Ma-ra-vi-lho-so.
