Water is very cold, so be prepared, but the water is very clean! Dark, rock is slippery. But a must!
please please take some time off your vacation to visit the caves. the water was crystal clear and so refreshing. for only 5 cuc you can visit the caves. they are located close to the coral beach and the airport. it was one of the best parts of the trip. i wish we stayed there longer. we rented a scooter (it is cheaper and adventurous)
So different than anything we have ever done before.Busy, but well organized. We got some great pictures. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable.
Loved being able to swim in the clear cool water in a cave. The stairs were recently upgraded so much safer to gain entrance to pool
the location is not far from Varadero (depend which section of the peninsula ) . good place to test out the water and totally refreshing amazed with nature and enjoyed every part of the cave . A place worth visiting and get wet
We were here last year but since it was part of our snorkelling package ended up here again. fascinating rock formations.
this is a beautiful place. After a lot of stairs down to the pool, the water was very refreshing. Cool but refreshing
Worth to experience for first timers....You should know swimming then only you can enjoy....other its little scary to be in the water.Overall best...
This was a stop on the Jeep Safari and it was GORGEOUS. There are a fair amount of steps to get down into the cave so just be aware of that if you are disabled or have very young children. There were many bats in the cave which freaked some people out but they were NO problem at all. Bring swim shoes if you have them - the cave has a very rough bottom and you may get scraped up a bit. The water temperature was perfect and there is just something so special about swimming in a cave. A once in a lifetime experience for sure.
Loved the stop and swim at this wonderful cave located near the airport, beautiful! Had a great swim in cold fresh water and the people were extremely nice!
I love caves and this one is beautiful! I was surprised to see that people could go off the path, since that would damage the rock formations, also not a good idea because the ground is slippery. I think this site would really benefit from a few interpretive signs explaining the geology and formattion process.
I didn't really know what to expect when I was told I'd be swimming in an underground lake. But, Wow! It was very pretty. If you like caves and neat rock formations, you'll love this! And for those claustrophobic folk out there (like me), there is no point where you have to duck under anything or shimmy sideways to get through anything. It's all open (a set of stairs) all the way down. You can reach you arms out as far as you can and you won't touch both hands to a surface at the same time. :) One side is open to daylight while the other side is what you see in the photo. There are washrooms and a restaurant there as well.
No need to take a full day tour just to see the cave, if you can just ask a taxi (And be sure to ask the price BEFORE getting in!). Well worth a visit. Grab some snorkel gear and jump in. Worth it if you are planning to swim around. Not so much if you're only going to snap a couple of pictures.
never seen anything like that. clear crystal water beautiful natural site absolutely a place to go and experience
we did the jeep safari and one of the stops was here at the caves. absolutely stunning. bring water shoes as the rocks are hard on the feet. it will leave your speechless !!!!!! wish we had more time. after reading reviews i was preparing myself for freezing water but it was WAY WARMER than our pool !!!! jumped right in no problems
