its an amazing place , you walk around and see the houses and how people greet you .they all sit outside the house , the music is all around , beautiful atmosphere . I definitely it and not to be missed .
You have to keep in mind this is Cuba where very little is nice. This is a small square surrounded by some old once beautiful buildings in various states of disrepair. There are restaurants and cafes you can sit and watch people pass by.
After trailing through Trinidad's colourful streets, sit down on a bench in the little park on the main square. The church presides over one side of it, you can take a look inside. Or just watch the world go by and enjoy the flowers.
We enjoyed sitting on the long, huge stairs of the plaza to watch the world go by. We had a few drinks and just watched the crowd. There is also dancing here at certain times. The cobblestone is cool!
This peaceful square with its benches for people-watching is beautifully laid out and landscaped. At the top of the hill leading to the church with landmark tower, this plaza is surrounded by wonderful colonial buildings. These buildings house museums , art galleries, restaurants. Our group didn't have the time to take advantage of the museums but it would certainly be worth the effort. Another time, hopefully.
Sit in the shade and simply watch the world go by.Children going to and from school.Tourists stumbling over the cobbles.Old ladies walking much faster than the tourists. The banana seller going by with this wheelbarrow full of freshly picked bananas.Sipping a Mohito or Pina Colada purchased from a local stall at 2 CUCs a time.Looking up at the stars which are so brightIn fact, just relax in the sun or beneath the night sky!
Beautiful square full of history,. Enjoyed watching people go by while having a drink. Always some musicians doing their thing.
Trinidad's main square, locate in the middle of the old town - casco historico. Nice place to rest and enjoy the day having a drink.
A Lovely well tended square in the middle of Trinidad surrounded by some lovely building. Unfortunately we did not have time to sit and take in the atmosphere.
We enjoyed a great restaurant with live music in this area and later joined others salsa dancing in the square. IT is the place to be in the evenings in Trinidad!
Lots of people around. Good view from the steps whilst having a drink. Very lively and fun atmosphere.
Sit around and watch the people. We watched, a wedding, a photoshoot for a 15th birthday ( very important in Cuba ), grandparents with the children, old american cars, music and little girls dancing to it. The church is beautiful and the Romantic Musuem is on the square as well.It is unavoidable in Trinidad, the city center being so small.
wonderful architecture and design, super music in the evenings invites to dance, brilliant atmosphere
We sat on a bench one late Saturday afternoon and just watched the locals go about weekend life and amused ourselves for ages with everything going on. A vintage car with a bride and groom rode around a few times, someone tried to sell us bootleg booze, we met the caretaker of the square and shared football and Beatles stories with him. It's a great spot to catch some shade on a hot day or pass a few hours after sightseeing which we also did. There is shop on the corner that's sells water to keep you going and a small supermarket close by. There is an internet shop and a cinema on the square. Down the road is another internet café but it is expensive so go for coffee and biscuits instead. Great venue and much better value. Stop back in the Plaza for another sit down on your back again. There is a Transtur bus from Havana hotels that stops a few blocks away and also at the Iberostar on the Plaza. Easier than the Viazul Bus Station if you are staying on this side of the town.
Even if you do not visit the museums , this is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the buildings. Colourful and quaint.
