This place is jaw droppingly beautiful. To get there is a wonderful ride through Jarabacoa and up into the mountains with tons of awesome sights to look at along the way as you pass through a couple of small villages.Once you get to the camp, there is no shortage of things to do, whether that be hiking just for the fun of it, or hiking to go see a waterfall or some other attraction, I promise you won't get bored. They have a place for rappelling, a zipline, [downhill] mountain biking (which I will warn: the downhill course is very fast), an open area for games, and more.Whether you just want to look at amazing landscape or are a bit more adventurous this place will make, and leave you happy.

This off the beaten path plantation has a lot to offer. There is good signage throughout, marking trails. There are also good lookout places for bird watching. Many, if not all, of the DR's endemic bird species can be found here. Lastly, there is a pretty challenging mountain bike course. We didn't bike at all on our visit. I'm not sure if that's something you have to arrange before hand. Four wheel drive is a good idea to get here, especially if it has been raining.

Imagine an organic coffee plantation at 4,000 ft elevation in the Dominican mountains where few tourists venture. It is only 1.5 hour from the busy Santiago airport serviced by 6 different U.S. airlines. And minutes from some of the best white water rafting anywhere.Chad Wallace has a social vein in his heart and soul and is committed to an organic approach primarily to care for the surrounding environment and its people (he also supports a local school to lift up the unchallenged natural intelligence of the local residents who are in borderline poverty). And there is much more beside the coffee planation: mountain bike trails, mountain camping, hiking and volunteer opportunities to serve the local communties. The Dominican Republic is the number one tourist destination in the Caribbean. But forget the beach. Go to the highest mountains in the Caribbean for some stupendous eco tourism. And put Spirit Mountain on your itinerary. You will be blown away.

With an insightful tour of the coffee farm topped off by lunch and devotions at Camp Spirit Discovery, this place is a wonderful piece of calm and beauty.

Amazing place to go for beautiful hikes and views! I would go back time and time again! The Coffee Farm is so natural and an amazing place to visit and relax. Enjoyed seeing the diverse trees and wildlife. The different birds flying around in the trees are so amazing. Definitely a place to go again, and have a silent retreat.

We were given a tour of the organic coffee plantation and hikes up the mountain and had lunch at a beautiful campsite. The views were amazing and the area's trees and birds have been carefully preserved.

I had the privilege of getting a tour of Spirit Mountain this past week with a few of my friends. Not only was it informative and very interesting to learn about all that goes into coffee farming, but the scenery was spectacular. What Spirit Mountain has going on is really something great-for the community, the environment, the wildlife, the locals, and for the quality of a cup of joe! I loved my time at Spirit Mountain and Doulos school in Jarabacoa and would recommend it to any friends whether they are coffee drinkers or not! Definitely a must see!:)

Spirit Mountain has lots to offer for an outdoorsy individual. They have mountain biking, rappelling, hiking, bird watching, ziplines, a waterfall and great information on the coffee plantation. That being said, the mountain is still in early stages of development. This destination is definitely catered towards the more adventurous tourists. If you are planning on staying on or near the hill, you will need to plan for camping style accommodations (however there is a new complex with cabins near the bottom of the hill that is under construction). As it is still growing make sure to contact Chad or Krista Wallace before planning your trip so that you can have help working around the restrictions of being up in the mountains. The drive to the hill is long and bumpy from Jarabacoa but it gives you a very cool snapshot of the lives of the locals living outside of the city in the hills. If you are looking for a resort in the hills this destination is not for you, but if you dont mind roughing it a little, there is a lot to see at Spirit Mountain and it can be a very interesting addition to your trip to the Dominican Republic. I really value my experiences at the plantation.

I went up to Spirit Mountain for the first time, and from the entrance I saw that this was something incredible. On the way up, I enjoyed looking at nature, such as the variety of trees, birds, coffee plants and ponds. While I was only there for a short time, I fit in paintball, lunch, and mountain biking, and I enjoyed every second of it. This place is truly unique and a great place for anyone to visit!

I was able to do so many amazing things. From lots of hiking to repelling. When you wake up, and there are humming birds flying all around the place you know this place is special. The aria is incredible and the things we did where amazing. I real cant wait till I can go again and be able to do some of the same things I did last time. If you ask me this is the ultimate place to go too.

We had a great time last spring visiting Estancia Natura. It was my 3rd time visiting Spirit Mountain, but this was the first mountain biking event that I had been to. From the friendly, professional coaching of downhill-pro Grant Listock-Kay, to the actual riding of the downhill mountain bikes, to the community that surrounded the whole event - it was a wonderful day. There were men, women, children - all of different skill levels and interests and Spirit Mountain has just about anything for anyone. Hiking, rappelling, downhill MTB, giant swings, comfortable yet rustic accommodation, bonfires, waterfalls, and organic coffee make for a killer time for everyone.Whether you want to make a day trip or an overnight camping adventure, Spirit Mountain is a must-visit if coming to the D.R.

As part of the summer camp of the "Liceo Científico Dr. Miguel Lázaro" of the dominican province "Hermanas Mirabal" I organized a trip for 30 students (aged 13-15) to Jarabacoa and Spirit Mountain. Many of them don't know their own country because it's very rare that they get the chance to travel. Therefore the kids were very excited and had so much fun just walking through the impresive landscape and to experience the diverse attractions that Spirit Mountain offers. All started with a warm welcome of two german volunteers called Franzi and Lena who afterwards gave us an interesting tour through the organic coffee platations. Both of them did a great job while showing us around the unice place! It was a very informative and unforgetable trip for all of us. Unfortunetly there was no time left to see all parts of Spirit Mountain but we definitely want to com back! All in all it's a must see for all kind of visitors that get the chance to experience Jarabacoa and its surrounding. We are already looking forward to come back soon!

Hey there... this a great place up in the mountains of Jarabacoa, to have an adventure. If you like outdoors sports this is the place for you. Here you can lay a camping tent on top of a hill, slide thru a Zip Line while you take in the view, go downhill at blazing speeds while overcoming trail obstacles, elevate your heart rate by ascending uphill on MTB, shoot yours friends with paintballs or go for a hike. + Good food.-
