Excellent views you will take breathtaking photos of all the landscape and scenery. The locals will try and give you a tour for a price they don't do it out of the goodness of their heart
The cable car was fun, but we didn't, have enough time at the top of the mountain, spent maybe 20 minutes.
We loved it and the view from the top is amazing. We have some great pictures that were taken but be careful of the helpers who take your picture and then they would like a bit of "spare change" to help them out.
Awesome,,,didn't like when car swayed Alittle in wind,,but once we got to top and fog and rain went away,MIT was so worth it,,the view was indescribable
This tour offers photo opportunities that just aren't easy to find. Take your camera and don't be afraid. We had a guide that also walked us through the botanical garden at the top of the mountain and explained all about the flora and fauna as we walked.
Provides a smooth and nice passage to top of Mt Isabella. Car does not hold too many people at a time, so try to take earliest possible up. Not for those with fear of heights.
Beautiful view, nice place to walk around, but do go in the good weather, you won't see anything if it is covered in clouds. The ride up is very smooth so if you are not a person who like heights, just stand in the middle of the car.
The cable car ride is not to be missed. However, when you arrive at the cable car station at the bottom of the mountain, you will be assailed by "guides" who want to escort you to the top and guide you around the park. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY. One guide will be assigned to you and pressure you for money but you don't need him. The cable car ride is easy enough and the park is very well signed. You will not get lost. There are good directional signs throughout the park. There are no interpretive signs in the park, so you don't need a translator. There are also guides at the top who will try to direct you to take pictures of the statue and want to take your picture with it. The statue is not a religious site, but a tourist attraction. The dome building under the statue is not a chapel but a former bunker, converted to house hawkers' stalls. You will find the same tourist "souvenirs" here as everywhere else, but the prices can be more reasonable. I bought a painted chicken for 200 pesos which was priced at 2200 pesos downtown. The park was a little disappointing in that it is advertised as a botanical garden, but there is no effort to educate visitors about the plants there. Parts of the park are a little run down and shabby looking. You can drive to the top of the mountain and take in the park for no charge. There is a restaurant there and several sites with benches throughout the park that would be nice for a picnic but there are no tables. The mountain is often shrouded in cloud and is always cooler than the city below, so be sure to take a sweater. The road to the top is not well marked but the road is paved, though steep. Turn off Av Circunvalacion Sur at the big blue propane station and then turn left a couple of blocks down. That road will take you right up to the top.
Great view . beware of the tour guides that look like they work there but not sure if they do, charged us $10 per couple. they help you take nice pictures but refuse to take tip and drag you into their stores and get upset when you don't purchase something lol
Go on a day that it is not cloudy up at the top of the mountain so you can take beautiful photos. On many days it can be cloudy and you cannot see anything from the summit.
We head a great time on the cable car excursion. The view was amazing. The cable car felt safe. And I would love to do it again.
A fun little ride up the mountain and a nice short nature hike can be found here. Good for a relaxing day out.
Cable car is well organised with good queuing system but be prepared to wait. The view at the top is well worth it with nice gardens and views over the city and beyond. Also a shopping opportunity at the top for gifts but be prepared to negotiate on price.
It was lovely going up on the cable car..wonderful vistas! There was shopping, restaurants etc available. However, again as in most places, the vendors were extremely pushy!! Always ruins a beautiful experience.
I thought it was a joke, but by the time our 3rd tour guide showed us his ID we in fact found out that ALL OF OUR TOUR GUIDES names were "Carlos Santos".This guy is AMAZING! I expected a pretty monotone tour, which this is this and that is that, insert date here. Pretty much other then the views I expected to be intrigued. EXACT OPPISITE, this guy had us laughing on the tour bus the entire length of the trip !!
