It was a beautiful aquarium, very big with lots of fish. It was a little hard finding your way around it. And it was overpriced. Overall it was nice.
We went to Atlantis on our own, then paid for admission there. Buy your tickets onboard and get the transportation with it. To self guided tour was nice and the waterworks were amazing. It's something that would take more than one trip to appreciate.
If you've ever been to a water park you won't be impressed with anything here. It's fun for very small children perhaps.
We just spent five nights at this beautiful hotel. Our experience was good, but the service of Edison of Discovery Atlantis was AMAZING! He went over and above and provided excellent service. We Met Edison in passing and he helped us locate my 5 year old son who was lost on the waterpark for hours ,that mad our trip even better. He was so knowledgeable about the property. We were blessed to have met him. Lilly-Royal Tower Guest
My favourite water 'ride'. It is easy to wipe out. That happened to me a couple of times and one time I scratched and bruised my leg. Another lady got a bloody elbow on my trip....but it's still fun!
We traveled last week, the first week of March. Our boys 12, 9 and 22 months were with us. Positives first! Beautiful resort, customer service was outstanding in almost every department. It's a 30 min cab ride from the airport to the hotel. Upon check in, we discoved that we had been upgraded to the Royal Towers (reservations were made for Coral Towers). We were required to book 2 rooms since we had a party of 5 even though the baby is only a year old which was a bummer. It was nice to have both rooms upgraded and side by side. The rooms were spacious and clean. We did purchase the value dining plan which we were happy that we did. All food is expensive, but especially anything healthy. All of the restaurants were very clean and had very friendly staff. Lunch is not included in any meal plan, we spent about $60-$75 for 4 meals which was pool side and did not include drinks. We stopped on the way in and picked up several cases of water. We also packed most of the babies food and he ate off of our plates. I highly recommend packing as many snack as possible. Anything thats individually packaged. Our boys were eating constantly and this can def help cut down on food costs. The pools and slides were nice but cold. The weather was sunny everyday and the temps 79-81 degrees. The in and out left the kids cold with the breeze, if they weren't in the pool they were wrapped up in towels and debating weather to go back in Especially our toddler. I was disappointed to learn that none of the pools are heated. They need to be, especially if they want to maintain a year round crowd. We would not return this time of year unless this changed. The ocean temp was cold as well, so that wasn't a better option. The beach areas were beautiful and well kept. One area was super rough and you were unable to swim but the beach next to The Cove is protected and was quiet and calm. Our older boys were able to snorkel (bring your own or pay $35 on property). Our kids enjoyed the water park but were honestly over it by the end of day two. We did pay for them to Snuba off resort which they thought was fabulous but at $300 for them and my husband, it's very expensive to pay for the extra activities. We were there for 5 days and the last two, we were struggling to keep them entertained. The toddler area was fun, but they will not let the parents go down the slide with the child. Which is very limiting! Our toddler wanted to go so badly, but we knew he couldn't hold himself up at the bottom :(The aquariums are amazing and they are everywhere! You literally can't take more than a few steps before seeing something new. It's beautiful! One thing that I had the hardest time with and no one warned me, was the smoking! Holy cow! You could litterally be lying in a chair by the pool and the person next to you light up. Being pregnant and with a toddler this was very upsetting and disgusting. Even while we were eating outside you would catch the smell of it. The casino was the worst. We had no interest in gambling but to get from point A to point B, It's not an option. And let me just say....UGH! A stroller and a pregnant woman walking through a large cloud of smoke. Last but not least. There is A LOT of walking, which is to be expected. With such a large resort you have no choice. However, so many areas are not stroller friendly! Stairs Everywhere! Either my husband and son had to lift or carry our stroller up and down or you had to walk even further (when I was alone with toddler) to go around it. Take note...you must have a stroller with small children, or theyllbe exhausted by the time you get to the pool. Overall, we are happy that we visited. We can't say enough about the friendly staff! However, with the price tag what it is, if changes are not made and more activities not included, this will be our only trip. In my opinion if they aren't careful this will turn into an adult resort. The casino, smoking, loud and sometimes inappropriate music and the free flowing liquor (which lead to some obnoxious 18 yo behavior)... Turn offs for us.
We went here for our excursion on the cruise. It wasn't as amazing as I expected it to be, but still tons of fun. The water slides with tubes were the most fun. I really liked the 'lazy river' as well. It's a cool place to go to once in your life. They have lots of marine animals and exhibits.
Atlantis is a great place for a nice , beautiful day to get away for couples or families. We only had a day because we were on a cruise. recommend the water rides to families with Teens & up. They are very aggressive, but fun! Our favorite was the slow ride that takes you through the shark aquarium! The rides are great, the staff was rude.
I can now cross the Atlantis Resort from my bucket list. I've visited the Atlantis water park on 2 occasions. Once in 2010 and again in 2012. In 2010 I was a guest of Atlantis Resort for 8 glorious days and in 2012 I cruised to the Bahamas and purchased a day pass. I wanted to go back because I couldn't hit all the on-site attractions during my first stay. A few of them were closed because it was considered the off season. My 2nd trip was during the summer and everything was open for business. Now, I can say...been there, done that. The water park is free if you are a guest of the resort and Comfort Suites.
. i loved all the rides. but the long waiting as usual. Also we had to short cut our stay due to rain. wish they also had lots of indoor activities there too
So much to do for all ages. Loved the tube ride through shark tank. Rented a cabana for the day and it was perfect.
All of the slides were a blast! The rapids river was awesome. It's pretty fun watching the waves knock everyone off their tubes too!
Atlantis is a great place for a nice , beautiful weekend get away for couples of families. I think if we stayed longer than the weekend we would have been bored! Luckily we were on a cruise and we only stayed a couple of days.I recommend the water rides to families with Tweens & up. They are very aggressive, but fun! I recommend the rides that takes you through the shark aquarium! There are two. One you slide you go down alone fast, the other you go down on a raft at a slower rate, so you can actually see the aquarium. If you have smaller children there is a beach & a baby pool. The staff was very attentive to our needs, the food was actually good at the snack bars, & they had an awesome DJ playing great music. We pretty much did everything we wanted to do in one day. We ended up leaving the resort before it closed! Fyi. They only take credit cards!
Taking a short cruise to Bahamas with new cruisers was disappointing because you now have to pay to get into the Atlantis just to see the aquarium in the lobby of the hotel. Cannot see the beauty of the hotel lobby no longer. You can go to the casino of course so they can take your money. Was here 2 years ago and was able to walk around the path and see the aquarium. Now they get you for $52 per person for a 1 hour look. Yes it is nice, but still pricey. Also, there wasn't anywhere we could go for lunch that was open unless you paid to get thru the lobby and go to the one place open. Other options was only the deli down by the shops on the Atlantis property. Very disappointing!
How can one rip a beautiful very well kept place, I won't but-----Ever been to Disney World and its wonderful rides? Looks great on TV uncrowded then you go--did you really think there would be only a few people there? No line ups?---VIP $$$ mucho dinero. Then it rains--or is exceptionly windy and overcast--cool temps---remembering that DW and this place are worth more than $100 a day---And I AM NOT--counting the hotel rooms and extras which put you over $300. Now I could hardly blame weather conditions on a water park. Even in perfect conditions this is just a very very nice place to go swimming---not really good value but that would be the knock not the place itself.
