We booked trip at last moment and had lot of fun in snorkeling. Lot of enjoyment. People of boat were very nice, funny friendly. Want to go back already.

My husband and I have a small craft and we visit Icacos as often as we can. You have to bring everything from chairs, umbrellas, food...and most of all...alot of sunscreen! The water is cristal clear and is excellent for snorkeling. It is a very friendly atmosphere and hey if you forget your matches to light up the grill....just ask your neighbor! Most of all, you will never forget a visit to this precious island!

Like a few others on here we booked with captain mingo, he was awesome. I called him the day before and arranged a time to go. We stayed from 10-3 with our 4 and 5 year olds. Our 5 year old was invited by Mingo to sit at the drivers bench, he loved it. I would not have done it any different, it was perfect. We went to laquillo beach the day before and this was 100 times better and worth every penny of mingo's $100 fare for the 4 of us. Take a ton of sunscreen, water and a umbrella.

Very small island in the northeast. Must have a boat or rent one to get there. Sometimes you can hire boatman to get there. White sands, transparent water, can snorkel nearby. Sunny year round.

White sands, deep green shrubs, absolute seclusion. Couldn't imagine how it could possibly get any better. But then for a brief moment, the sun came down and touched my skin with her lips as a sign of deep care and affection for me. I love you too, Icacos Sun god.

Stopped here for snorkeling with East Island Excursions since it was too windy to go to Culebra. Lovely beach and more white in color compared to Luquillo.

Our experience with Captain Mingo was perfect... we drove into town, rolled down the window and asked a local sitting near the road where to find Captain Mingo. He pointed towards the dock and the yellow boat and called out to Mingo for us. We discussed the price (which is $25 per person, but requires a minimum of 4 people - so if you're a couple like we were, it will be $100), which at first seemed pricey, but Mingo does make it worth the money. He took the time to explain the various sites we were looking at on both the way out and back, was more than happy to answer questions, stopped the boat in the middle (without us asking) for a photo op, and then inquired to what our plans were. Did we want to go swimming/snorkeling or have more quiet/private time? As we are a couple we opted for the private time so he took us around to the ocean side to a small cove that is accessible only from one route and completely cut off from the rest of the world. It was truly like being stranded on our own private island with no one else around. Likely the most romantic day we've ever spent together. Families and adventure seekers should stay on the leeward side, but couples should definitely choose the ocean side. He also returned promptly at the requested time to whisk us back to the real world (sadly). Well worth the $100.

My whole family booked a trip with Captain Mingo. He charges a great rate per person to the island and back.He brings you out to the island and picks you up at the time you want to be picked up. We went from 9-3, but we could have gone longer or shorter if desired. He showed us all the reefs for snorkeling and even let us snorkel from the boat for an hour. You do have to bring your own gear and food, but the ability to have a private experience on the island is so much better. The reefs were awesome despite having much less visability than normal due to a recent storm. It was a definite highlight of the trip. I can't imagine how much better it would be when the weather is calm. We had a four year old and a six year old who despite not doing much snorkeling loved the beach and island. The grandparents sat in the shade and read while all of us were having fun. I definitely recommend going with Captain Mingo which I learmed about on this forum. His number is: 787-383-6509. You definitely won't regret going with him.

East Island Adventures did a great job ! Giant Marine Iguanas, a reef Shark and a Whale included no extra charge- Snorkling was fantastic... little crowded on the boat.... but otherwise perfect

We found this thanks to TripAdvisor. Thanks! Captain Mingo dropped us off at 10am and we were the only ones on the island for a couple of hours. Then the catamarans came with bunches of people. Still what a paradise. Beautiful colors. So serene. Highly recommend but go early to really enjoy this special place on earth.

From the minute we made the reservation with Captain Mingo, I knew we were going to have a great experience. He send us directions via text which were very helpful and although we were runnin behind he was really understanding and did not give us a hard time. We arrived at the dock and he was very welcoming and helped us load our coolers/chairs etc. On our way he began to give us a brief history of all the beautiful islands around the area in which he also sails to. To Icaicos it took us about 20mins and ones we arrived to the island it was so breath taken. Water so clear and calm, the area so clean and the view omg the view was beautiful...we had arrived to our own private island :). We were there from 12pm-5pm, and had such an amazing and relaxing experience-walked around the island, had lunch, laid out, took a swim in the beautiful ocean- it was definitely a healthy and spiritual experience for me. Captain Mingo arrived 20 mins before 5 and ones again was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Captain Mingo!!! I would highly recommend you!

A little busy with tourist depending on when you are there but beautiful..We went on a snorkel boat and there were several others there at the same time. White sand beaches like you see in postcards though...

Relaxing, beautiful, serene. The cleanest waters I have ever experienced. Ideal for swimming, snorkeling or walking around and exploring.
