Plaza Las Americas is a huge indoor mall, to rival any in the US. The mall houses at least five large banks, all different. There is a food court with many of the usual fast food chains, along with some we've never heard of, as well as an old-fashioned market open only on weekends. We were escaping the cold for 3 months, so we had time to get a bus to the mall. Otherwise, who comes to Puerto Rico to go to a mall, right?

We were forced into shopping here by the loss of a suitcase by our airline. It is a very large shopping centre anchored by three big department stores. It had a great display of cars in the walkways when we were there but and it is a big but, when in it you could have been anywhere in the United States. Great if you need to shop but not what most people travel to Puerto Rico for. There is though a small market area with some local goods. It is a short taxi ride from OSJ . As always in Puerto Rico though ask what the fare is going to be before you get in a cab. The fares in the tourist areas are fixed but many drivers will try to take advantage of tourists. We paid $14 to get there ( which was correct) and was then quoted $20 to get back. When I queried this I was then told pay me what you want. I paid 14.

If you are looking for something more classic stateside then this is a good place they have many chain restaurants including the cheesecake factory. A nice place to do some shopping its very large but somewhat difficult to navigate. Its a short $17 cab ride from most of the hotels.

This mall is large with 3 levels and lots of very different stores, including Macy's, Penny's, and Sears. A lot of high end stores. It is near the center of San Juan; a $20/each way cab ride from Isla Verde. Several nice restaurants and a great Cheesecake Factory.

this is a huge mall, named the biggest mall in the caribbean,i like it! ,a lot of stores but too much americanized, not too much local stores but you can find there whatever you want. The only negative point : Valet Parking service, very bad!!

I visited this great mall on January 3. It was very busy but we have a great time, specially taking my little brother to see the "snow". The update of the food court on the third floor looks nice. As always, geeks like me can find stuff that you can't find in other shopping centers in Puerto Rico like Star Wars collectibles.

We couldn't find my husbands flip flops to pack, so this mall has recommended to us. We found some at PacSun! This mall is three stories! And decorated for Christmas! On Christmas Eve "snow" was dropped from the third floor for a white Christmas in San Juan. It's a typical American mall with all the same stores. I wouldn't waste time here unless I needed something; that need it fulfilled!

This is a nice mall but we were surprised at how Americanized it was... all the stores were exactly the same chains you'd see in the USA. I was kind of hoping there would be more local Puerto Rican stores. (although there was one section tucked way in the back on the third floor that sold local Puerto Rican arts and crafts). It is considered the largest mall in the Caribbean. We were there a few days before Christmas and the mall had lovely Christmas decorations including a section that "snowed". We stopped at the food court and there was a variety of stuff to choose from but once again your typical American fast food chains. Catching a cab to get here from our hotel (The Sheraton on Convention Rd) was quite expensive ($16 each way) and traffic was kind of crazy getting to the mall but that could have been the Christmas rush and not very typical. Overall, it was a fun way to spend a few hours and if you like shopping you will thoroughly enjoy it as there are lots of stores to choose from.

If your tired of the tourist traps and our Puerto Rican food be sure to check out some great food places like of changs Cheesecake Factory Applebee's macaronian grill and other real good restaurants. This mall not only has a movie theater but also has a food court, and many other types of shops. If your in the area I would recommend this mall.

This is a really big mall. Lots of top notch stores. There are many interesting places to eat. We were there the week after thanksgiving and there were many great sales. The place was very clean and everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. There is valet parking for those who would want that. We didn't have any problem finding a good space.
