We walked here from Ocho, just a couple of kilometres up the hill. No-one else was there as no cruise ships were in adn the gardens and waterfalls are really lovely. At $10 it's much better value than Coyaba Falls (Now called Konoko falls and charging £20). If there's no-one at the bar and you want a drink, don't worry someone wil wander over and open up the bar for you.
Spectacular views of Ocho Rios, use the guides - they are very knowledgeable. Walk around yourself after the tour to get a better look at the gardens. Magnificent trees. You can walk from Ocho Rios if you are adventurous - we enjoyed the walk and it was not in any way threatening as suggested in the guide books.
Vincent gave us a wonderful educational tour of the gardens. Very quiet, no crowds. Abundant plants and flowers of all varieties. Loved it. No swimming allowed, but the waterfall is lovely.
My 10 year old son and I took a taxi here from our resort in Runaway Bay and we both loved it. We were lucky enough to be the only visitors that day. The gardens are spectacular and if you love flowers and foliage, it's a dream. We really felt that we had stepped into a lush oasis and our guide Percy patiently explained every single plant and remnant of the original hotel site. My son loved the feeling of exploring all the nooks and crannies of the estate and swinging on the banyan tree. This outing was a very welcome respite from the noise and chaos of a large resort.
This is lovely for group outings. If you want to hang out somewhere where everyone will have something to do then this is definitely the place. Have unique adventure make all the arrangements for you and you are able to spend the whole day just bonding and having fun. I will definitely recommend this.
This park is a fantastic place to enjoy flowers and spend time in nature. Ronold was our guide and he did a great job showing us the garden.
Nature at its best, the guided tour really teaches you to understand how nature works in the Caribbean
We had a pleasant guide who knew his plants. Be aware of the sensitive plants as you walk over them. A Cascading waterfall will please your senses with the red ginger flowers in the foreground. Great place for photos and nature lovers.
If you love nature and waterfalls you must visit here. The scenery is spectacular.Be warned there are lots of paths and many steps to negotiate, but worth it.
We paid for a guide who was very knowledgeable about the flowers. Lovely waterfall and view. Make sure you spray yourself with insect-repellent !
The beautiful grounds. The gravity feed pools and ponds. A quiet place to relax and view Ocho Rios from the mountains. The drive up is entertaining. Look for the pylon man. HA ha
We took a cab from our cruise terminal to this attraction on an overcast day, dotted with frequent showers and hit it between showers. They gave us a short (30 minute) tour and we had to wait well over an hour for our cab driver to come back. THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF THERE OTHER THAN TO PRE-BOOK YOUR CAB! This place is pretty isolated so most people come on a tour bus. Beware coming in a cab because you might get stranded. The road coming in is long, and in pretty bad condition. There is no way to walk to anywhere to get any transportation. So make sure you have a way back to your hotel or ship. I was trying to hire an employee to take us back to our ship when our cab driver finally arrived and said "Bad Traffic in Town - Sorry."
The Shaw Park Gardens and waterfalls was amazing! This is off the beaten path and no huge crowds to contend with. This was the grounds for a former hotel and now houses an awesome collection of native and non native plants! The waterfall is amazing! guides are also great and show a lot of pride in their garden! Worth the visit! Enjoy a cold beverage afterwards!
The gardens are in the grounds of an old hotel. They are well maintained and contain an amazing collection of native plants. The guides are knowledgeable and ensure you have a memorable visit
We had a wonderful stroll in this lush, tropical oasis of unique trees, plants, flowers and did not want to leave the garden. This would be a beautiful spot for tropical family or couples portraits if you are able to arrange that ahead of time while visiting. Our friendly guide gave us a tour of the grounds, explained all the different flora and fauna and also gave us some history of the gardens. He picked beautiful and unique flowers for us and even made a cute bouquet for my mother. It was rather enchanting, I felt like I was in a dream. We were the only ones there so it felt like our private paradise. There is so much potential for growth and I have many suggestions for the owner. I am telling all of my clients and friends about this place as a potential spot for a destination wedding.
