I took a boat ride to Saba Rock after spending the day at Bitter End. Why wouldn't you do it? It was right across the Bay, the boat ride is free, and there was Happy Hour from 4-6. Fun vibe. I ordered wings to go and Key lime pie (by the recommendation of someone on the ferry to Virgin Gorda) and both were excellent!
First night on our yacht charter spent on a mooring just off the resort...so first taste of the BVI was rather magic for the uninitiated. Maybe rather commercial on second thoughts, but I enjoyed the location. The Bitter End Yacht Club was worth a visit for a souvenir. Can't remember much about the food at Saba Rock probably due to a couple of painkillers, but we had a great night in the restaurant.
We moored just off of Saba Rock. We had dinner there 1 night. The setting was great, the food was average but the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend the restaurant if you stay in the area.
The tarpin event was sexist in its crude jokes, and the food was forgettable. They have a slew of things to buy, you get the feeling that you are there to consume and d lend, rather than experience a unique island destination. But it is that way a lot in the islands so you have to decide what you want to go for.
On our boating trip, we stayed two nights at the Bitter End Yacht Club, right next to Saba Rock. We had happy hour and drinks one night at Saba, $4 painkillers (well-poured) - definitely the best deal we found on the trip. Plus, you can't beat the setting, beautiful sunset and good food. Tarpon feeding at 5p was nice touch, although then terrifying to get back in the water.
Couldn't wait to get back to Saba Rock after 5 years from our last visit. Wanted to watch the NCAA final or maybe catch up on the weather report but NO TV's. I was told by the manager that they didn't want to known as a "sports bar". Put the TV's back.
The whole experience of going to Saba Rock was brilliant! We were whisked cross the North Sound from Leverick Bay in a fast ferry, and then enjoyed a lovely buffet dinner at a table right on the waterfront. Very good choice of food, excellent quality, and in a beautiful setting. What a refreshing change from roast turkey and mince pies in a grey UK!
We took the water taxi across the bay at night - for free. We raced across the bay at night in pitch black - but it was fun. Saba Rock was lit up with so many catamarans it was pretty incredible. The ambiance and location are worth the trip but go at night. The food is not the best but it was a great experience.
An amazing location with a team that went above and beyond our expectations - stop by and enjoy a drink, meal or stay a few days, you'll be happy you did.
Just a bar and hotel - good views, but you can get that anywhere on VG. Good if you have a boat (we didn't) so otherwise can't recommend the trip. It has a bar, nice views...and that's pretty much it - again, if you are on a boat, probably a fun stop.
Beautiful restaurant, busy but had great service. Conch fritters to die for! Love that you can walk the full circle around the restaurant and it's a different feeling depending where you are. Romantic and quiet by the hammock in the sand or socialize by the fish "tank". Paradise
We docked and had a great drink at Saba Rock. The views were amazing. I had a Mojito that was so good. I saw this huge Tarpon fish right when we got off the boat and my brother told me that they have Tarpon Feeding at Saba Rock.
We went to Saba Rock 3 times in total and each time we went the service was worse than the last time. The food was consistently good however, which kept us coming back. If there were more choices of restaurants in the BVIs we would probably not come here. We prefer Bitter End Yacht Club.
great place for conch fritters and just chillin! Trip advisor insists on 50 characters so I added this statement.
We mainly went there to find the geocache, we were successful at that, if you find it go tell the bartender and you'll get a free drink. I had a burger and it was dry and flavorless, my wife had the fish and chips and it wasn't very good, the service was awful as well. We liked the setting though and the kite boarder from Bitter End was fun to watch. Wouldn't go back.
