if you like local flavored rums, then The Rum Store,in Orange Blossom Plaza, is for you. Marsha and Jerome are kind and knowledgeable. Taste the various rums until you find your favorites. Mix and match favors, it's fun. I have been a frequent purchaser for a long time. If you like rum, Aruba, and a great time, then The Rum Store is a must for you.

Jerome at The Arubian Rum Tasting was very informative and knowledgeable about the history of Aruba and Rum making. He makes some of the Rum in the store. The location has moved to Orange Plaza down the street where you can taste an array of uniquely made local Rum. Prices are reasonable, I'm sad that our Coconut Rum broke in transport back to the states. They bubble wrap the rum you purchase, which is a nice touch. Jerome explained to us that local taxes are increasing which threatens to put local small business owners like him out of business. He said they may close in the new year. On the lookout for local rum we pulled into parking lot in front of a large building with a small door. Inside we were greeted by 2 Arubans who reported that all retail and tasting operations were just a bit north in Orange Plaza. In conversation they gave us the story of the operation, a bottle each of hard cider from Denmark, recommendations for fresh fish places and directions to the retail store. Just south of Pizza Hut. We found the place - The Arubian Taste Minimarket, L.G. Smith Blvd 140. We were encouraged to sample about anything we wished and more. I bought a bottle of their strongest - 151 proof - and Almond Joy. All very reasonable and fun. Bring a designated driver.

Ok, my review is not for the factory (because I didn't actually go) but I wanted to comment on the best part of the tour (according to my fellow TA's) - The Arubian Taste!! This is the rum tasting shop that has moved up the road to Orange Plaza. Marsha is the BEST! Just keep driving north until you see Orange Plaza (or if it's night, look for the big bright sign) Hang a right and your there. They have all of the Palmera rums and you can try them all!

F.y.I. they now give their tastings and sales at "The Arubian Taste" which is located further past the factory as you go away from Oranjestad. You have to turn right on dirt to a paved parking lot with a car wash (there is a small map on the factory door...can't remember exactly now.)When we finally made it to the store the cashier was very excited and gave us samples of all types of rum. All I can say is YUMMY!!! If you plan on taking some back to the U.S. they will tape and bubble wrap it nice and tight for you too which was great!!

Being a seasoned rum sampler I was looking forward to Aruba's local rum. Stopped at the Factory and was told in no uncertain terms that they DID NOT SELL or offer sales at the Factory and to go to a Mini Mart to purchase - what the hey ??!!

This was a fun little place to sample many differnt rums. We bought many airline size ones and put them in our coffee. Nothing like starting out the morning with some flavored rum in your coffee. It was fun to try all the differnt flavors. I wass expecting a much larger place inside and was shocked at how small the tasting room was but it sure was good rum.

The service was great, we were able to taste various types of rums. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products and give suggestions on flavors that we might be interested in tasting.

The rums here were amazing--chocolate, coconut, and more. I will definitely go again. Be forewarned--the amounts are listed in Aruban dollars. Don't be taken by the cashier if they try to charge the exact # of American dollars.

The have an amazing selection of local rum. You can sample products before purchasing.The staff is super friendly. Worth a visit.

Var till free arubian taste i början av mars. Man fick testsmaka hur mycket som helst. De hade även souvenirer av olika slag och roliga kryddor. Om man går från Tamarijn (från entrén rakt över huvudgatorna) tar det 10 min. Om man genar och inte följer kartan. Följer man kartan tar det minst 20 min. Ett besök rekommenderas.

建物のサイズを見て大きな店だと想像して店内に入ったら驚くぐらい小さいお店。ただホスピタリティは素晴らしく、色々なラムの味見をさせてもらえます。一番人気だというココナッツフレイバーのラムを2本購入。飛行機の中でも漏れたり割れたりしないように蓋のところをテープでしっかりとめてくれ、プチプチを瓶の周りに巻いてくれるサービスも嬉しいです。
