I wasn't sure about the glass structure around the Church, but once inside, it is bright and pleasant. Seats aren't anything special but it is a nice size ... I've attended and performed there.
for a cultural centreThe opening night featured the Bomb girls local heros during the war, and all the actors and actresses from the showA definite centre spot for local and passing through shows, a much needed focal point for Ajax
We have just finished enjoying our second Ajax Theatre presentation here. Small enough to be cosy with an excellent view of the stage and great acoustics. Hope to enjoy many more offerings here over the years. Definitely worth the effort to convert a former church into a heritage venue for future generations to enjoy.
Great place to meet and greet friends such as Garden club awards.Well kept and was once a Church which the Town manages and refurbished rather than lose it's historic value
Many local community groups/artists utilize this place for performances. It has a stage, curtains and maybe 90 theatre style seats with full lighting and A/V capabilities including a room for a sounf tech. As it is an old church there are stained glass windows on several places which give it some charm. There have been washrooms added to the front, a bar area for receptions and a kitchen and dressing rooms in the basement. While most of the old church structure remains intact, the front of the building looks completely out of place with the glass wall and standard doors. The blue glass-I don't particularly like this recent coloured glass trend, looks silly. Not really open unless there is something going on inside. You may need to buy tickets for a show unless it's some type of community event.
They show monthly black & white classic movies, also had a jazz concert, and offer stage productions. This is a nice new venue set up in an very old church
