This is a must see venue if you are a history buff. Housed on the grounds in a building which once produced WW1 airplanes, you are surprised at the size when you walk in and see the replica airplanes hanging from the ceiling. This a true military heritage museum with displays of Canada's contribution to every conflict. The rich local heritage of Brant county and the First Nations are honoured with displays that are simply fantastic. If you take your time it should take a couple of hours to go through it all.Well worth the time

This museum is dedicated to the local men and women who served Canada in various wars. All the conflicts in Canada and abroad are represented with artifacts and information. Many of the veterans are memorialised with pictures and plaques. The centre pieces of the collection include a mint condition Canadian Military Pattern truck. The CMP is a artillery tractor made by GM of Oshawa in 1945. There are two 25 pounder artillery pieces and a anti tank gun. A Dodge weapons truck and two jeeps round out the centre pieces. Over head are various World War One biplane replicas. Around the periphery are collections of rifles, swords, machines guns, and all the weapons of war. Personal items from the veterans themselves and their uniforms are on display. Toy models fill cabinets and there is a library of full of war books. Not to mention other interesting military artifacts. This museum is a must see for those who like military history. It is a good couple of hours on a vacation or afternoon’s outing. Nearby is the Royal Chapel of the Mohawks and the Brantford cycle trails. The museum is about an hour and half from Toronto and a bit longer from Buffalo NY.

Certainly for those who are interested in history, it is a must go attraction which you can spend a whole day. I am not a fan by any means but enjoyed my visit anyway. It is a not a huge place but full of artifacts, trucks and tankers and even life size plane model, Red Barron remade of course. But many other display were actual artifacts preserved. My favorite was the portion of trench system put together that you can walk in and experience a bit of what it would be like. Make sure you check out the periscope in the trench system. Pretty cool.

Really a very great collection of Canadian artefacts. Lots of uniforms to look at and a mock trench that's pretty cool. You can even climb into some of the vehicles if the owner is there.

Wow a little gem hidden in Brantford. This museum might not have all the guts and glory that you can find at the War Museum in Ottawa, but its quiet, it's quaint and it tells you a story that we must never forget. You enter the museum and you can take your time, look at everything, take time to think about what war was really like. I absolutely enjoyed my visit and it was almost like a private guided tour as the staff were there to answer all your questions. Yes War is Hell but this place gives you more of an appreciation of what our ancestors did for us.

Was going to Brantford and needed something to do for a few hours. Time well spent! The museum was excellent and the volunteer staff were extremely knowledgeable about the items they had on display. Well worth the trip and very educational.
