We booked a spa day with a group of ladies to celebrate a milestone bday..we were very happy with the service from the first treatment to the final treatment. We each had different operators and not a complaint amongst us .A wonderfully relaxing fun day .
I am writing this on behalf of my wife. This occurred on Sunday, 25 Jan, 2015.Having been to the Millcroft Inn in the past for dinner on two occasions when I was extremely pleased with the experience, my first time trip to their spa on Sunday was disappointing. The website boasts it is "award-winning" and one of the "Top 100 Spas in America". I have been to some nice spas in Canada and the U.S. and this was mediocre in comparison. I booked a pedicure for myself and a friend on Wednesday, which I realise was a bit close to the desired date of Sunday. We were given only a 9AM or 4 PM option, and I chose the 4 PM option. Was told the spa closes at 5 PM. It was suggested that for lunch from the spa cafe, to arrive a couple hours early, place the order, enjoy the amenities, and the food would arrive at the cafe approx. half hour later.- drove for one hour from XXXXXX- upon arrival before 2 PM, we ordered a simple lunch from the menu (2 salads only). We were told it would be ready at 3 PM.- went to the change/locker room. It was small, uncomfortable, cramped quarters with at least 10-15 women closely dressing, and drying their hair in front of sinks that should have been free for washing hands. I saw only one toilet. The pool was adequate, the hot tub would fit 3 to 4 people maximum comfortably, and seemed too small for the amount of guests who were there. We were told the hotel was sold out and the dining room was busy, but no one knew of any conference going on that day.- we showed ourselves to the cafe area at 3 PM; no staff were present, all the tables were empty but uncleared from previous diners. The space was again, quite small for the number of potential guests.- when we went to the front desk, we were told to wait in the lounge until they called us for lunch.- the lounge was busy and less than relaxing with that number of people- the quality of water and tea offered in the lounge (self-serve) was mediocre- at 3:20 I headed to the front desk to see where lunch was, and was told the dining room had been hit with an unexpected group of people. Our food was "on its way over" from the main building.- close to 3:30 our food arrived and staff finally cleared a table (in front of us standing and waiting) for us to sit down- The salads were basic greens with dressing, and some bread on the side. Hardly worth waiting 90 minutes for, or paying 20 dollars a plate for. I have had better, more affordable salads at fast food restaurants.- I was thinking later that we should have put our coats and boots on to trek up to the main dining room ourselves, so we would have had a better chance at a nice meal.- when we were greeted slightly late for our pedicures (since we did not have a leisurely lunch and had to eat quickly to make the 4:00 appointment), the service providers told us that most of the nail polishes we could choose would take 45 minutes to dry, and a small number would take 15 minutes to dry. We were not sure how to take that comment...would we be welcome to sit and dry for 45 minutes after the spa had closed or was this an insinuation that they wanted us to get out soon?- The quality of pedicures was good, and the service providers were friendly, but all in all, this spa experience was less than desired.- As an aside, the 72 hour cancellation policy is unreasonable. For the pedicures and lunch, the total came to close to $200. What a disappointment! We could have gone to my local community pool, nail shop down the street and the fast food restaurant next door for a better quality, more relaxing, efficient experience, at probably a third of the price.
Great spa services and staff. Comfortable spa and nice amenities, including lounge, pool, steam room, exercise facility and cafe.
Had a manicure and pedicure one day and a facial another. Both services were great and the staff were skilled and pleasant. The spa itself has a very relaxing atmosphere.
The Spa is spacious and in a great setting. Its quiet and relaxing, with options to have light fare while getting treatments. Worth the price-tag.
Wonderful experience. Not only did we enjoy the spa... the staff made the visit even better! We had the charka massage and would recommend it.
My wife and I treat ourselves twice a year to couples massage and love the services provided here. We have tried many other places including on a cruise, but love the relaxing atmosphere, the quality of the massage and the professionalism of the staff. The services included such as the steam, pool and amenities we tend to use after and are fantastic too.
We liked the inside pool and Jacuzzi, the games room, the quiet, peaceful lounge, ability to book massage and other treatments. Many games (ie. pool table etc.) were available in the separate games room. We were a bit apprehensive about the slippery tiled area around the pool.
I can't say enough positive things about the spa or the staff. The Millcroft Spa is a wonderful place to spend a day. Relaxation and pampering, always wonderful for the body and mind. If you want the best in body detox try the Japanese Ofuro treatment. For facials the Oxygen Facial ranks top on my list. Finish off with a mani and pedi and you will be in true paradise. All staff are so caring and professional. I can't wait for my next visit.
was a wonderful experience from start to finishdinner was amazing and service fantastic.property is gorgeous. Our waiter Tyler was great he made the evening.
Has all the typical 'spa' facilities, nice games room, but a poor gym facility not really worth going to. In winter there'll be no wandering over in your robe from the rooms either.
The whole getaway was amazing!!!! Right from the service to the room to the food and the spa. Not at all disappointed!!!!
My husband and I were married at Millcroft 31 years ago today. As a gift, he gave me a full day at the spa and it was wonderful. I started with a massage, then had a facial and reflexology. The staff were delightful, very helpful, and efficient. The atmosphere was fantastically tranquil and I particularly enjoyed the fireplace on this cold December day. I'll be certain to visit the spa often because I've just returned to the area after 25 years in the USA and I'm delighted to discover Millcroft is just a few miles from my home. I may even take advantage of their monthly spa membership so I can enjoy the facilities on a regular basis. If you're looking for a soothing spa treatment, or you're a couple interested in a quiet, relaxing getaway, you'll love your experience at Millcroft. They use Aveda products which are great for sensitive skin. If you've got the time, a night at the inn and dinner in their spectacular restaurant would make an ideal weekend.
Relax and get away at the Millcroft Spa. The ground also boasts an excellent and scenic restaurant and has Inn rooms to stay, but we really enjoy the Spa. Recently renovated and some services updated, the spa as a pool and whirlpool for use. We have been going for years and did even know they had a small gym for workouts. A cafe has a small menu, and we have sample some drinks and snacks by the outside pool in the summer, but the Spa sitting area now has a menu from the restaurant. Hand and feet pampering treatments available, but the massage service is great. Very clean, good service, this place makes a nice weekend.
Amazaing treatments and wonderful staff. The whole experience was well choreographed with the progression of our treatments.
