I am an avid motorcycle rider and I love riding unique and challenging roads. Forks of the Credit Road leads to Belfountain Conservation area and both the road and the Conservation area are magnificent. The scenery around Belfountain is also breathtaking.
Belfountain conservation area is a nice place for picnic. Its a very small park with a waterfall and few trails. Everything can be covered within 1-2 hours. You have to pay an entrance fee of $5 per person. Parking is free but the parking area is small and its a challenge to find a parking spot. Overall its a good place to visit for couple of hours.
This is one of the nicer conservation areas I've visited. It's small but offers a lot of attractive scenery. The focal point is Belfountain Falls and its downstream rapids. Though part of a dam it doesn't really detract much from them. There is a rope bridge allowing closeup views as well. You can walk a loop trail around the perimeter and observes lots of water runoff into the river as well as some nice escarpment rock features.
This is a nice park / conservation area north of Mississauga. It features a shallow pond, man-made waterfall, suspension bridge, a man-made cave and small pathway going around the entire area. If you plan to stay a while for a picnic or afternoon in the area then it can be worth the price of admission, if you just wanted to see it is rather expensive as you can see everything in well under an hour. If you did want to see this and not spend much time there plan to take advantage of the entry fee paid at any of the credit valley conservation areas allowing you access to all of the credit valley conservation areas for the day.
a little tricky to find but once your there it is a peace of shangrala waterfalls rivers and a fishing pond as well as park really pleasant place to visit fish or hike
Its a nice soothing place to be viewed once. Good value for a lesser time trip. No foods no moods..... be prepared for excursions. .... rated above average
Loved the beauty of nature .. Amazing view . Fun time for children . Only issue is no network connection issue for cell phone or GPS
My friend and I wandered in, on foot, without a penny in our pockets. The place was deserted on a weekday afternoon. Right away we were approached by a guy on a 4 wheeler, telling us we had to pay $5.00 per person to walk there. We explained we would only be 20 minutes, just going for a local walk. He would have nothing to do with that, we had to pay or leave. We left!
Smallish but intimate atmosphere. Exclusive upmarket menu. Slightly more expensive. Parking available.
Went for a Sunday drive to get out of the City for a few hours and headed for the Conservation area upon reading up on it. Pleasant enough drive after the highway if taking the Forks of the Credit River Rd-winding and picturesque. Parking lot was full at 1:30 pm and never reopened when we were there. We parked on the side of the road further into the village along with dozens of others and walked down the steep hill. Five dollars per person to get in is okay-I understand they need to upkeep the place. I feel there should be a reduced price for walk ins. Large field like area FILLED with families enjoying picnics. Short walk to the "cave"- a man made cement enclosure and small dammed waterfall with a wooden suspension bridge. Wooden/cement stairs to cave viewing area and beginning of trails are steep and many. Trails are short and not far from civilization so you never really get the feeling of "getting away". It was an interesting experience but I would not go back. Good for young families who have children who can walk on their own. Not really stroller friendly or good for seniors.
The park is small and one can cover the trails relatively quick and it's convenient since pathways are all loops. There are some unique elements to this park too; such as the bridge, the falls and the creepy little cave.
We love going for hikes and taking the Trimble Trail. The beautiful untouched nature of the area is so peaceful. The waterfall there looks so powerful. You could spent the whole day here enjoying nature!
This location is wonderful for a scenic hike, its a must visit if this location is close to home. Wonderful atmosphere for picture taking. Romantic for a couples outing, double date, but just as well peaceful time alone. Purchase ice cream at one of two locations just outside the park (Side note) cash only. If you have not visited this hidden beauty please do. I will not elaborate to deeply, for the bellfountain, bridge and waterfall alone is a worth while site to see. If fishing is your first search as usually is mine, fly fishing is mandatory due to the conditions, species, etc. Did not catch anything but area has potential.
This place makes for a nice day trip from Toronto. Has a mini-waterfall and a hanging bridge across it that is very scenic and some beautiful trails and a fountain. A photography buff's heaven! Although it rained when we were there, the tree cover is thick and we were able to shelter under the trees until the rain died down. Also, there isa nice picnic area very close to the parking lots. Highly recommend - pack a picnic lunch and go for the day!
Interesting trails along the river and round the conservation area, though they can be a bit uneven/rocky in places and involve a few flights of wooden stairs, so wear appropriate footwear and expect a bit of a hike. The fountain and surrounding area is very well tended and has lots of excellent photo opportunities, the "cave" and suspension bridge are cool in a kind of quirky way.Picnic area looks well planned out and was in full use.The $5 is reasonable as they obviously have a lot of maintenance work to do, and you can use that same entry token to go to any of the other conservation areas in the area the same day.Just down the road from here are the Cheltenham Badlands, well worth a stop off on your way past.
