nice place to sit and relax. After our bike ride we sat back and did some people watching and let the time pass.
Great to watch the activity at the marina. Boats coming & going out of their slips. Even asked to be a spotter for 2 young people wanting to go waterskiing. It was great to get out on the water.
The harbour has boats, benches, beach and pier and a restaurant as well as a resort condo. The pier in the hot summer sun is full of laughter, diving, cannonballing, sunbathers all enjoying the water. The beach is stony, and the water has stones and rocks, but with proper footwear, no problem. The water is clean and clear. Take a chair, book and sustenance and just relax for a day/afternoon. Kayakers dip into Georgian Bay here, sailboats are visible and larger boats coming in and going out. Aaaahhh, life is good. There is a small playground for children and washroom facilities. The Bruce Trail is very close by, ice cream available just a couple of blocks up and the town just another couple of blocks further. This is god's country.
It was interesting watching the boats coming and going . There were plenty of trails around. We enjoyed watchinjg the cranes lifting the bats for winter storage.
Not much happening at the harbour this time of the year. The boats are gradually being dry docked for the winter. In the summer, find a park bench and just sit and enjoy the marine activities-lots of sail boats and cruisers to enjoy.
Stopped here for a lunch break while cycling on the Georgian Trail. We stopped at a cafe in the center of town and got some food and beverages to go. We ate our picnic lunch in this great little spot at the waterfront park and swimming area.
I no longer have a boat but when I did I would go to the Thornbury Harbour and dock to enjoy a good clean meal at the Harbour. Then I would walk into town and shop around, grab a coffee or ice cream. I believe the only place on the water in that area.
Thornbury rocks. What a lovely village. Love the ice cream shop near the marina. And the boutiques and stores along the main street. Would love to live here.
There was plenty of parking on this beautiful fall day. We walked out to the end and around to the other side looking at many beautiful boats. People were getting ready to take their boats out of the water for winter so it was bustling quite a bit. Lots of sailboats out for their last adventure. Then we walked across highway 26 and ate at Bridges Pub (see that review)
Great place to view spectacular Sunsets. Walk out to the end of the pier, and wait. Lots of nice boats, and friendly marina staff.
