Allandale is a nice littel 9 hole course that can challenge anyones game, a little pricy but very good condition.
This course is beautiful but the grumpy old man and the not so pleasant reception makes this place a terrible course if you want to have a good time. It's challenging, it's beautiful but I have never been treated as such in my whole life. They seem to forget that they are in the people serving business, you wonder who is the owner and who is the patron when you come here. I've been yelled at here more times than I can count - the latest, because they claimed it took us 2.5 hours to golf the course when we were out there for only 1hr 45 minutes. Got yelled at because we were talking in the parking lot and he was waiting for us to return the carts to the coral. If he wants them that badly come and get the damned things and keep your mouth shut! Please don't interrupt a 4-some who paid $120 combined while they are talking about the game they just had and planning where we're going next. Can't wait for the owners to sell and have someone more interested in customer service take over. Beautiful course, terrible management/owners. Don't think we will spend our hard earned money here! READ OTHER REVIEWS - POOR, VERY POOR.
Now here's a gem. We love golfing at Allandale. The staff is very friendly. The course is beautiful, it has some challenging holes. It will not disappoint.
Allandale could be nicknamed my home course. It is basically the one I play more than any other. Normally due to time constraints I can often only get 9 holes in. What makes Allandale so nice is that this is a full size nine, nothing "executive" about this one.To open you face a 500 yard par five.. wide open but good length. In total you get 3 par threes, 3 par fives and 3 par 4s, which give you change to play most of the bag.Combine that with great staff, good price and well maintained greens and you have a winner.
We were playing a tournament at the Allandale Golf Course, and were stopped at the 2nd hole, and asked if we had any alcoholic beverages, we stated no, but the woman approached and opened our bags without our permission and started searching. I thought what would prevent her from finding my wallet, watch or cell phone and possibly taking it without my permission. I could understand if we were belligerent, had open containers or were loud, but to search without permission is totally inappropriate, we understand the rules, but this was taken a step too far. I spoke to other owners of local courses, and they told us that they would ask first, and politely inform the patrons of their regulations. The course it self has not changed in years, very worn, few upgrades, and far to many rules and regulations which are imposed on a game that all should have the opportunity to enjoy without fear of breaking some rule that they might now about. There seems to be the "Old School" mentality there and a select few that seem to get the run of the course. There are far more courses for equal or less money that will gladly encourage all to play their courses with a smile and happier disposition, that will make you want to come back to play more.
