It was January - and very cold. I would love to come back when I could walk around and enjoy the feel of the city more. The history here is pretty amazing - but it was sad that virtually all the tourist attractions were closed due to the time of year.

Lovely downtown, on Lake Ontario. City Hall and parks and a farmers' market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Very walkable. Nice stores for shopping and outdoor cafes.

Lots of things to see along the waterfront, in the winter you can even ice fish right by the hotels if it suits you!

The water's edge is bordered by a walkway that is for strolling, jogging,or biking. There is a park for sitting and enjoying the view. As you proceed along there are 2 marinas for leisure craft, Your walk divides the waterfront from the hotels and condo buildings along the shore. In the summer, the city's tourist assn. arranges musical presentations in the park. There are vendors to satisfy your need for a snack or ice cream cone.

Kingston is a very nice town on the watersedge..Your not here to go to the beach so don´t expect Carribean Kingston!!!!This is a town to visit walk it and see it.We used it as stopping hub to visit 1000 ISlands and Gananoque...Great place to visit and enjoy the Ontario outdoors..

Kingston has a great park like waterfront, but unfortunately the beach is rock and not family friendly. There is also a nice stretch of pubs and a couple of functional boat docks for boaters wanting to visit for the day.

Be sure to visit the Great Lakes Maritime Museum, and walk through the beautiful architecture of the city.

could walk every where you needed to go easy walks to multiple stores, pubs, restaurants. Took the free Wolfe Island Ferry ride at night to see the lights and enjoy the lake

I still remember the first time I came to Kingston, Ontario and thought now this is a beautiful place to live one day! ... and here I am almost 15 years later. Still my favorite place to go all year round is downtown by the waterfront, but especially in the summer! There is ALWAYS something going on, entertainment, food, and especially music!

There is always something going on at Kingstons Waterfront. Its walking distance to great restaurants and shops, and K Rock Centre, downtown, city hall. A must see if you visit Kingston.

I have lived in Kingston for a very long time and the waterfront is absolutely amazing. There is always something happening at the waterfront. They have live shows at the Basin in the summer. There are many walking trails along the waterfront. In the summer they have the Buskers and that is a wonderful time.A visit to Kingston waterfront will not disappoint.

A lovely town with a lot to see, unfortunately we were too late to go on one of the 1000 island tours but enjoyed the waterfront.

I've only been to Kingston twice in my life, both in 2014 as my oldest son has begun attending RMC. This is a beautiful, compact, walkable downtown, which I love. It reminds me of the smaller European towns I've been to. Park your car (of if you're staying at a downtown hotel, leave it there - you're paying for it anyways!) and wander - lots of great restaurants and snack places, unique shops and chain locations. On a sunny, early fall day it's a great spot.

Kingston's harbour is home to great sailing, windsurfing, pleasure boating and free ferry rides to Wolfe Island. Walk along the shore from a lovely park at Queen's University, head easterly and pass between stately homes and Sir John A MacDonald's statue. At water's edge pass by hotels and condominiums. End your walking journey with a meal at one of the many downtown delights or time it well and take the Wolfe Island ferry and see the City and Fort Henry to the west and north at sunset.

The waterfront is much smaller than I realised but not sure we walked the entire length. What we saw was lovely. Many geese and ducks, as well as a muskrat. (Probably others won't like this but as we've never seen one, it was a novelty for us). An old train and the tourist information who are incredible helpful!
