We went to LA Town Grill for a monthly girls dinner (we try for different places every month) and all four of us were completely dissapointed. We had reservations weeks in advance but when we arrived the hostess/waitress said she couldn't find our reservation. We waited for 20 minutes for a table when one person in our party looked at the reservation book only to see our reservation in black and white. We pointed this out to her and she was very rude and said they were working on getting us a table. While the food was okay the service really was bad. Took 15 minutes to get a waitress to order, 20 minutes for an appetizer to arrive and then another 30 minutes to get dinner. While it was nice to have so much time to sit and and have girl talk(well over 2 hours) we were all unhappy about the service and demeanour of employees. Even though this restaurant is close to home I am doubtful of returning.
my husband and I ordered out a few nights ago. The service was poor from my first phone call. I called informed the lady that I would like to place and order. I was abruptly told to hole on......then I was disconnected. I call again and tell the same person that I was disconnected, again I am abruptly put on hold. Finally I give my order. I arrive and the resturants to pick up the order. I am approached by a waitress who looksd at me but never asked what I needed. I inform her that I have an order for pickup. She doesn't ask for a name, she tells me she will go,check but never goes to the kitchen she goes off to the bar and talks to a co-worker. This is fine but don't tell the customer you are going to check and do nothing.if the other worker told her it wasn't ready then come and tell me. I wait and then wait and the other waitress comes and takes my money then tells me "I will go and see if it's ready." She takes a detour to help another customer before finishing what she told me she was going to do. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I was given my order with not even the simplest of of courtesy. The food was good tasting. When my husband and I compared (seeing we ordered the exact same thing) we laughed because he had some things that I didn't have. The presentation even in take out can be nice, this was not. I am disappointed. I have reviewed this restaurant in the past and loved it, this time I'm not sure we will be back. It starts with good service and on this day it sucked. Sad but true.
The appetisers and wine were really quite good, setting me up with high expectations. The beef tips were delicious. The soup tasted like they'd opened a can of baked beans and tomato puree, and stirred. The chicken was well grilled, then covered in President's Choice blush sauce with no flavour, matched with completely bland, starchy potatoes, and soggy frozen veg mix all my table shared in common. At least it was plentiful. If you like bland and love quantity: This is the place for you!
I see a couple of reviewers had problems with the service here.We went for dinner last Friday and had a wonderful time.We were seated immediately even though the place was quite busy. The server was pleasant and efficient and helpful.I had the seniors stir fry and had to take half home as it was quite a large portion, which is fine. Several people would ask if everything was all right which shows attentiveness. Our drinks were brought promptly and so was the starter after we ordered. The main course was about ten minutes before arriving which is what one would expect when the food is prepared fresh and not some pre frozen crap. Would go back again.
The food was very good and the service was spot on. We didn't have to wait forever for anything nor were we rushed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
I have been here three times recently ... twice with my husband, once for breakfast, and once for dinner and just last week I took a friend for lunch there. Every time I have had a problem with the service... once seated it takes awhile for someone to acknowledge you, then when you order there is a long delay in getting an appetizer and once it comes your food is right behind it, no chance to enjoy the appetizer. If you are lucky when the meal comes it will be what you ordered, twice we had to tell the girl it was wrong.... my potatoes came mashed ... I ordered baked with butter, they offered to bring it "soon" and said I could keep the mashed with gravy.... the gravy was all over the plate... I wanted it taken back. My husband had to eat his meal so it would not get cold, mine came back with a loaded baked potato.... I had to scrape it off.... when they do get the food right it takes a long time to receive it and then to get the girl to come back with the bill takes forever..... I gave it three tries and although it is in my home town and walking distance which would be lovely to enjoy when you want a drink or two with the meal... I don't think I would go back.
Went there with a party of 6 for a birthday party. The waitress barely spoke English, she then proceeded to forget the appetizer we ordered. We let it slide as we made due by eating the bread and bread sticks. When they finally brought out our entrees, the baked potatoes were missing and they said it would be 10 minutes to bring them out, they never brought them!. Asked to see the manager took him 20 minutes to come over to our table, and his remedy was to take $10.00 off a $100.00 bill. Will never ever be back!
love the food this is a great get together spot for our group. we enjoy it immensely!great selection on the menucourteous stafftime efficient
The menu, food, presentation, service, prices, and atmosphere were great!! Twenty friends were at the monthly lunch, and I believe we all enjoyed this choice.
We have been in the restaurant a couple of times in the last month. We are greeted with a smile which is very pleasant. The service has been fast and very good. Food and prices are excellent. We will be going often for lunch. Dinner menu looks very good will have to try.The Foursome
I'm happy to know we have a very nice restaurant close to home. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Wait staff also very pleasant. I hope they continue to do well, as I'd like to go back!
We have been here many times and the service and quality of food has always been outstanding. The ambience is very pleasant and the menu variety superb!
We went to friends who them cater for a party. First they had to call them because the food was late. Secondly the broasted or fried chicken was over cooked. Meat was totally dried out. Only had the Penne besides which almost seemed not hot enough .
My husband and I had an early dinner at the L.A. Town Grill.Gina, our server was most helpful,as well as quite pleasant. We felt very comfortable and were not rushed. The salads were quite fresh. My seafood crepe was ecxellent and my husband was quite pleased with the large scallop dinner. This restaurant is splendidly clean. We plan to take friends to this gem, where the prices are very reasonable for outstanding food and service.
We came as a huge group (25+ people) for my father-in-law's 80th birthday party. We were all together off to one side and able to draw a curtain to give us some privacy from other diners. They were able to accommodate us quite well. Some went with the breakfast buffet that is available until 3 pm while the rest ordered off the menu. There is a lot of selection in the breakfast buffet. Definitely something for everyone. Toast, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit.I ordered the grilled chicken burger which was really good. The service was great and they did their best with our large and somewhat unruly group!!
