My husband and I visited this winery this past weekend as part of the Cuvee Discovery Pass. The wines were great and the service was fantastic. We were greeted by Emma, who conducted our tasting. She was informative and pleasant, which made our experience wonderful. Thank you Emma!

We stopped here on the way to Toronto and were not disappointed. We wound our way off the highway and followed the winery/moose signs and found ourselves there. The server was great and informative and told us how they make most of their wines in Italian style, by drying the grapes beforehand. It was interesting to learn about. We tasted a good chunk of the wines between the two of us, and enjoyed all of them, and left with two bottles. The Riesling is really nice, not like any other I have tasted, but a very nice dry easy drinking flavor. But really we enjoyed all the wines, so it is well worth the stop if you enjoy dry, well made wines.

I learned a great deal here about Amarone style wines and the appassimento [drying and shriveling] process. And I tasted some superb wines. We stumbled on this winery during a three day tour of Niagara wineries for the annual ice wine festival. This one is not easy to find, We ate in a restaurant nearby and spotted the sign. And what a find. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable. We came away smarter than we went in and that is a good thing. They have an ice-wine and they have some whites but we were so quickly blown away by the Cabernet Franc done with the appassimento process that we ignored anything not done that way. These people know what they are doing but they don't speak down to the less knowledgeable.A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I joined their wine club and also left with a lighter wallet.

Our first visit to this winery, and we couldn't be more pleased. We participated in their Pinot Noir event (4 different years) and the gentleman who lead the tastings was outstanding. Very friendly, funny and knowledgeable about their wines and the winemaking process. They really do make fantastic wines- highly recommend a visit.

A friend received a bottle from this winery as a gift, and took us to do a wine tasting. We were greeted by Caitlin, the front office manager, who took us through an enjoyable and enlightening tasting. We left with a couple bottles of their Cabernet Franc 2007; thoroughly impressed with both the wines, and Caitlin's presentation. Definitely worth the drive to check them out!

This out if the way winery needs to be experienced by anyone who considers themself a fan of appasmento wines. Wine maker Barcley Robinson has created a beautiful array of tasting experiences surd to please. The price points are a bit higher than one would expect but well worth the investment. If is located in the Vineland experimental area and the winery itself is beautiful!

This couple spent some time in Milan as diplomats and fell in love with the appassimento wines. They've brought it now to Niagara and have done a terrific job. The tasting room is hidden in section of the Ag research station (take Victoria Ave off the QEW or north out of Vineland), so no, you're not lost. The wine is pricey, but very much worth it.

I really enjoyed the unique charm of this winery. It's tucked away by itself, but that was part of the appeal. The staff was friendly and gave us personal attention. We enjoyed hearing the process of how they make their wine. It is also really superb wine. We visited 6 wineries in the area that day, and this was by far my favorite across the board.

Far too many Niagara wineries are a little too full of themselves and the attitude comes across in the tasting room, but not at Foreign Affair. These are some of the most expensive wines in Niagara, but relatively speaking the price is justified and the Amarone method of drying the grapes make the wines both unique and of a high quality, but none of that would matter and my cellar wouldn't now include Foreign Affair wines if the visit to the winery wasn't a welcoming one. The ladies in the tasting room are very friendly, patient, informative and in no way push you into buying small or large quantities and the tasting room itself has a very warm inviting atmosphere. Ask about the story behind their unique labels.

Foreign Affair's wine is unique to the region because it seeks to emulate Italian wine more than what you'll come across in Niagara. This Italian wine (the owner's love for which is the foreign affair in question) is unforgettable and I highly recommend their reds and their ice wine. Though it's a little out of the way and hard to find, it's an easy recommendation and the tasting bar is pure class. The staff are also friendly and engaging, devoting a good amount of time to each customer. If you're looking for the winery, look for the white moose with 'ciao' written on it. It'll lead you right to them.

Foreign Affair wines are like no other. They use the 'appassimento' method and their wines are divine. We were there last week and sampled a few and also sampled the latest 'amarose'. Their unique method provides an exquisite experience that your taste buds will thank you for! The staff are very welcoming and you feel like you're entering someone's home and have known them for years. The winery itself has beautiful "Italian Villa" decor. Their "Conspiracy Theory" wine is the perfect wine for any evening. It is, hands down, our favourite winery and wine of the Niagara region.
