This is our favourite place to hike in the city. There are a few different entrance options but each one has some beautiful views. The trails are never too busy and they are easy enough for little kids as well.
The trails are very well maintained and the views are spectacular! You could be walking for hours and not even know it. I go once a month and I love it in the winter as well as year round. The icicles on the branches are a special treat. Wear proper shoes, there are hills ( not to steep).
Trails are marked well and great that you can do quite a trek. The scenery is beautiful and the path is well maintained.
Its a good place for hiking or walking or dog.I went there sevral time last year mushroom hunting but didn't find any. I'll try again this year but if I don't find any I'm going to look elsewhere in the future.
its very beautiful nice hiking trail among the bluffs however its lacking washrooms. needs more parking also however the trail is hiking with rocks in the path and tree roots less damage we humans do the better here.
always a nice walk. Like spring best when the Trilliums are out.People need to keep dogs on leash. On going issue at most trails.Nice having a provincial park on the edge of the city and easy to get to.
Went in October to photograph fall colours and my timing was a bit off but the trails are well marked, in good condition and, surprisingly given recent rains, quite dry. Well worth several visits over the season from spring to fall.
Easy to get lost in it... but a lot of informative signs and a really nice park. Not for people with mobility issues.
Komoka is 200 hectares of mature riverside forest and former agricultural land that has been preserved by the province of Ontario for the enjoyment of the people of Ontario. It is of particular value for the nearby urban residents of London, like myself and my family. The park is located just outside the city boundary and provides opportunities for hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, outdoor appreciation, wildlife viewing, etc. The park is unspoiled, uncrowded, is easily accessible by automobile, and free to use. A network of pathways criss-crosses the park, passing through mature hardwood forest, grassy meadows, wetlands filled with skunk cabbage, gurgling streams, hillside springs, and riverside vistas. A herd of white-tail deer is resident in the park and can be seen on most visits. I even had a close encounter with a wild turkey on one occasion.I really enjoy this park and recommend it to any outdoor enthusiasts to be included in any visit to the area.
The Komoka Conservation area looks like a scene straight out of the first Lord of the Rings movie. An excellent spot to hike, run around, and explore with friends with a scenic view of the river and diverse forest. The trails are well maintained and fun to navigate! Always an excellent place for a picnic lunch, or an afternoon get away from the city!
We have hiked the several groomed trails at Komoka year round and always love it. The ever changing scenery makes each visit different. We especially love how different each kilometer is.. hilly, forested, overlooking the thames river.
