It's actually in South Frontenac but anyways, a great spot to hike, picnic, swim, rent canoes etc. The beach is small but great for kids. The lake has good fishing and the water is clear and refreshing. I always buy a year pass and you can use it to also go to the Little Cataraqui Conservation area in Kingston on Division St. near the 401.
Gould Lake is a truly amazing place! Only around a 30 min drive from Kingston, I was in awe of the beauty of this lake and the hiking trails. We took our baby in our carrier and hiked for an hour before having a picnic on a secluded spot along the rocky shore. We finished our hike with a dip in the crystal clear water at the sandy beach. I can't wait to go again! Worth the trip!!!
This secluded conservation area has it all: swimming, fishing, hiking and biking. There is a sandy beach, a couple of docks, picnic tables, outhouses and well-maintained trails through miles of forest. Wildlife abounds!
This conservation area is a must see for anyone who loves peaceful and natural beauty. Pack a lunch, go for a hike or go for a swim in the pristine lake which is motor-free. Bring bug spray as with any outdoor activity in the spring/summer and some hand sanitizer as the washrooms are outhouses. There is a volleyball pit for those who are inclined. Go and enjoy!
