This place is nice to visit, always has interesting art on display and for sale.A gem in a scenic area of kegawong a step back in time when things were not taken for granted back in the day.Always a pleasure to visit, wish I could live here.
Perivale Gallery was part of our decision to tour Manitoulin Island; after seeing so many wonderful pieces displayed on Facebook and the web site. The gallery is nestled in a beautiful area of the island adjacent Lake Kagawong. Shannon McMullan, the gallery owner, greeted us warmly and answered our many questions about the island and the art. The level of work presented was very impressive, and priced quite reasonably. We'll be back again, hopefully next Spring!
We ( two couples ) were on a cycling tour of the island and stopped at the gallery when it started to pour rain. After touring the gallery we started to discuss our next leg of the trip which involved cycling to lunch in the pouring rain. Shannon who owns the gallery, overheard the conversation and suggested the four of us take her van into town ( twenty minutes away by car ) ...so we took her up on the offer. That sort of thing doesn't happen everyday. Thank you again, Shannon for your kindness and the opportunity to appreciate and purchase some unique and beautiful art work.
If you love art, and if you are on Manitoulin Island, you need to visit Perivale Art Gallery. It is THE destination for fine art in Northern Ontario. Shannon McMullan, curator, and Heidi (the dog) will greet you with open hearts into a warm and beautiful gallery. She carries some of Ontario's best and most famous artists, beginning with Ivan Wheale and ending with her support of young and upcoming new artists. I absolutely love visiting this gallery in the middle of Manitoulin's loveliness.
Manitoulin is vast, but I still make Perivale my ultimate destination. Always unique and fascinating art. Love it!
For many years we have been taking visitors to the Perivale gallery on Lake Kagawong. They always want to go back whiner they are on Manitoulin. The engaging owner, Shannon, makes them welcome whether they are just looking or are happily buying pictures, some by affordable emerging artists, others by an established master such as Ivan Wheale. (Only Perivale sells his new works.) There is also modern stained-glass, showcased in sunny windows, sculptures large and small and, this year, amusing hand-puppets. The gallery was started more than 35 years ago by a gentle, cultured couple with superb taste, which has been inherited by their daughter Shannon. Also an acclaimed actress in award- winning productions, Shannon makes everyone feel at home in her gallery. Perry Anglin, Manitoulin Island
We had a super time visiting the Perivale. Besides the pleasure of looking at some really beautiful art, we loved chatting away with Shannon, the friendly and vivacious owner. She was also extremely helpful when we came to making purchases.Definitely worth visiting, and take your kids - Shannon is very welcoming to little visitors!
The only thing that surpasses the scenery is the art which is of high quality. A little tricky to find but well worth the search. One of the best galleries in Canada.
without a doubt this gallery is a must see. wonderful eclectic collection. every time we have friends or family visit we make a point of taking them to this little gem of a place. something for everyone to enjoy. they have a spectacular collection of established artists as well as new emerging artists.

The Perivale gallery is delightful experience. The setting, itself, is lovely. We wanted to linger in the yard - and we did! From the moment I entered the gallery, I was thrilled with the selection and variety of truly exquisite pieces. I would recommend the Perivale Gallery, without hesitation.
As an appreciator of art, Perivale Gallery is a magical place. I recently brought visitors to the gallery and both of whom are artists from Japan. They were both impressed at the caliber of art and weren't expecting to find this hidden gem on their Manitoulin vacation. My friend and I each had to bring home a Laurie Near painting. Laurie Near's work just draws you in. Many of the pieces displayed in the gallery just speak to your heart. Another artist whose work I admire is Ivan Wheale's. Perivale Gallery is a must-visit when on Manitoulin.
Perivale Gallery is a beautiful gallery located in an enchanting setting on Manitoulin Island. The gardens, trees, and architecture add to the magical feeling of this gallery. The gallery itself is filled with a wide range of beautiful and unique pieces of art such as paintings, jewellery, stained glass pieces, carvings, etc... The owners, Shannon and Bill, are very personable, down to earth and helpful. My husband and I brought our two boys, aged 2 and 4, into the gallery with us. The boys enjoyed running around the grounds after the gallery. I will definitely be saving our money for our next visit to Perivale Gallery to purchase some paintings in the future.
Perivale Gallery is one adventure you don't want to miss, especially for those in quest of unique art treasures. After 35 years it continues to be an integral part of Manitoulin Island tours for our camp guests every summer. The pleasure of our visits over the years lives on in our homes - sculptures, paintings, stained glass, pottery, jewellery. Aside from a gallery that is a 'feast for the eyes', it's just great fun discovering what surprises are held in each room. Shannon keeps the place fresh. We wish we had more walls and shelves to set off more beauties.
This weekend I had the pleasure to visit Perivale Gallery for the first time. Owned and operated by a school friend that I have not seen in over 50 years, Shannon proved to be a charming, fun and personable hostess. The gallery is lovely with beautiful art, as well as other items such as jewellry, and crafted items. The gallery is surrounded by lovely grounds and the Lake Kagaowon . A must see for anyone travelling in the Manitoulin Island area I will be back again! Thanks Shannon!
