The ranch did a great job matching horses to everyone's comfort level. I've never been on a horse and they made sure to ask if anyone was nervous so that they could go on suitable horses. I had a great experience, the horses are well taken care of and so is the establishment. The trail guides were awesome at making sure the ride was going well for everyone and all staff was very friendly and helpful!
Had not been on a horse in years so this is a good chance to get back in the saddle to so speak. All the staff were friendly, the horses seemed well maintained and beautiful - could use a good brushing but... great temperament. we had a group of 8 plus two guides. We did get to trot a bit, would have liked more... it was a relaxed trail ride. The horses are trained to follow the one in front. If you are looking for a nice relaxing horse ride and some nice scenery... this is the place. They have some dogs and cats on site as well. Good for kids and adults but not if you are looking to "ride, ride".Make a reservation and enjoy. Cost $42 per person for an hour.
This has got to be the most unprofessional and irresponsible business i have ever seen. Dirty under maintained facilitys very ill trained staff. have even seen staff rounding up horses with an ATV. Don't waste your time or money. Boarders don't endanger your horses stay away.Sincerely Doug..
Very professionally organized and operated boarding ranch with trail rides catering to kids and adults. As a former equestrian, I appreciated the care taken to explain the rules, also the insistence on proper footwear, helmets were provided and not optional for all riders. The horses were well fed and groomed, and were selected for the experience level of individual riders.
Not having been on a horse since I was at least 8 yrs old, I thought this trail was great for beginners. The trail itself was quite boring but I was so excited just being on the horse that I couldn't care less. I enjoyed the over-all experience and had a great time. At one point my jacket fell onto the ground (my fault for trying to take my jacket off, take pictures and steer the horse) but the trail guide was able to pick it up for me after we finished the trail. It was a nice slow pace at some points jogging which was a nice change...although my butt hurt for 3 days afterwards! hahaMy horse was beautiful. It was $40 per person for one hour.
My girl friend and I had booked a ride for a Friday however when we got there, they informed us that the reservation had been cancelled. Immediately we inquired as to why we were not informed and the lot of them looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. They suggested we try another ranch that was "10-15 minutes away" however it turned out to be a 45-50 minutes journey. Unbelievable! Terrible experience and would not recommend them to anyone! Wildwood Manor is a way better option!
Two 11-year-olds I was supervising took a trail ride at Ride the Ranch (http://www.ridetheranch.com/) this week. They enjoyed their ride, but did not rave about it. They had fun and the 1-hour ride was the right length for them leaving them a bit stiff but not for long. From what they said, they walked along farm fields and under some small trees. They occasionally jogged. For beginners, they found the ride speed good. There were about 12 other riders, and 3 guides. The horses were all healthy-looking, well-groomed, and well behaved. They seem to have lots of horses at the ranch. The stable is very old and somewhat worn, but there is a very new modern indoor riding ring as well.Overall, I think I would take this age group and teens back to this ranch for another ride.
