We were there for a long weekend. On day 1 we rented 2 beach cruisers - great bikes, but we did so much riding we were tired and sore, so on day 2 we rented the e-bikes. These were awesome! The electric assist allowed us to enjoy a longer ride to see more of the island. My only complaint was that they were a bit pricey given that you cannot keep the e-bikes overnight, so you only get them until 7pm when they close and they refused to re-charge for us when we still had half a day left. She told my husband to peddle more to re-charge it.

My husband and I rented a tandem bike to explore Pelee Island. It was $45 for the day and the bike was in excellent condition. This business also offers regular bikes and ebikes for rent.

If you are visiting in the spring, summer or early fall, (they are open May through to October), you must do yourself a favor and rent a bike for a day, even two. Load your bike basket with goodies from Conorlee's bakery and start your adventure around the island.Finish off at the winery for supper (give yourself about at least 2 hours to do that) and keep in mind, that daily rentals end at 7 or 8 PM (they will let you know).Even if you usually ride a mountain bike, for an easier stroll, rent a Townie (Electra), they are lower to the ground, your back stays straight and there isn't so much pressure on your knees, which comes in handy when you ride for hours at an end.Hands down, the best way I have ever spent a day.
