A personal touch before every movie when staff come out to give you the "rules" plus tell you about the movie (how long) and upcoming events. A great place to meet friends (especially Seniors Mondays), good movies always showing. A great community neighbour!

Tired of going to the big cineplex to catch the latest Hollywood blockbuster? Want to experience movie going like it was back in the olden days? Give The Roxy a go and you won't be disappointed. From the retro outdoor design, the antique movie posters and artefacts in the lobby to the very personal introduction to the feature film by the Roxy Staff, your night will be one to remember. Just because it's an older theatre don't worry about loosing out on great HD films and sound. The owners have invested in the latest technology so you'll enjoy just like you would at the big cineplex theater. OK the seats aren't the massive ones you're used to but you'll still enjoy the show.

The Roxy continues to be a family favourite. Comfortable seating, great sound, up-to-date movies with flexible times and the price is wonderfully affordable.Family owned and operated, Cathy out does herself with fundraising initiatives and community involvement making The Roxy a place you enjoy supporting.

This theater is old, but so quaint. The staff are young local kids, that also perform at the theater for special events. The are called the Roxy Kids. They are quick and helpful, and very friendly. They are very well trained in customer service. Movies are always great.

Here's a trivia quiz: how many movie theatres that aren't owned by the big chains are there? The answer is: too few. Especially when you can see movies on the first day of release, just like the big chains but for $10 a person. The seats in the 2 screen theatre are newly replaced, the popcorn is excellent.

A small town and a movie theatre..... this is rare and totally appreciated. Not just a movie theatre, but a hub for special social nights like fundraisers 'martinis, manicures and Movies'. Or a great friends night out at the 'Oscars'. My daughter was part of the community volunteering they have there called Roxy kids, and it was instrumental in teaching her about giving back to your community. The popcorn is made with REAL butter, not the watered down garbage elsewhere these days. The chairs are new and really comfy. I love he Roxy and support it as often as we can. Please go see for yourself, its a real small town theatre with a big heart and great flicks!

The Roxy is a great little theatre with 2 theatres. The owners really care about the community and run many different events for local youth, seniors and film buffs. The concession stand offers great popcorn with real butter, pop and candy. We love the Roxy

I would only recommend this if you are into small-town quaint type theatres, because to me it was like watching a movie in a school gymnasium, only smaller. I feel that the seats aren't angled steep enough for proper viewing. The popcorn was not as good as it is in larger theatres either. But to each their own, I suppose.

We had to try the ROXY theatre, it is just too quaint looking. It was like taking a step back in time. The old popcorn stand, the vintage posters. It is very tiny but if not too busy it's fine. Our movie wasn't working so we all ended up waiting 30min while they fixed the projector. The theatre itself is fine, nothing like the new silvercity but it's a small town fee. It was $7/person for a matinee, not too bad. However, they only probably have 2 movies playing at a time and they show them a few weeks after they premiere so chances are you will more likely drive to SilverCity and watch it when you want to watch it. I would recommend cheaper tickets all the time and more movie options, even if they are a bit older. At least it will get people into the theatre watching movies!

Great to have a movie theatre in town. Right downtown, it has only two screens, so limited choice, but nonetheless, there is a choice. (two movies and usually two showing times to chose from).Prices are fair, and the theatre seats are comfortable...they even recline and there are footrests in the seats in front of you to use. The concession has a good selection for drinks and snacks (although per usual, quite pricy), and the popcorn is really good. They personalize your experience by having one of the employees announce the movie and announcements just prior to the start of the show. (ie: kindly leave your cell phones off/volume off). You can park anywhere along the main street and walking to the show is within seconds/minutes.
