We had my son's 10th birthday party here today and he loved it! He's already asking when can we go back? Our party was 7 boys, aged10-11. All of them thought it was great and said they wanted to have a party here. It's true, the doubles karts go faster, but the kids weren't complaining about the speed. We paid for a birthday package which included pizza, drinks, and kart time (about 20 minutes). All I had to do was show up with cupcakes and a bag of chips. If you are looking for a no fuss party that boys will love, this is it. We also were given a kart tire that my son's guests could sign as a memento of the day. A very fun day!

We used to have a blast at Goodwood when we were kids. Tried to recreate the experience with my 3 teens on the long weekend. Ouch.. After driving up from the Beach area of Toronto we had fun watching a few races with carts piloted by 8 - 12 yr olds travelling at 100 kph. Our expectations were high as we waited our turn when the public rental session started until we saw the group before us take to the track. It was like watching paint dry, grass grow, ice melt... point made. I could run faster. We all looked at each other and decided to ask for a refund. Six of us had a group rate of $135 +tax for 14 min each. The staff was polite and explained that regulations limited the carts to a max of 36 kph. I would be surprised if they even attained that speed!

9 of us went here with adults and kids ranging in age from 11-17. With full gas around the entire length of the course, the speed was laughable. Not fast enough to pass anyone or have any fun at all. One of the adults just ended her 9 minute race early because her cart was even slower than the other really slow carts. I would say you could run faster. The guy said it was the Ontario safety regulations that enforce this speed. Apparently there is a different course you can sign up for where you drive real go-karts but it's more expensive. We live in the are a and definitely will not be back unless the go-karts are sped up. My 11 year old daughter, who was scared to go because it was her first time, wanted the cars to be be faster.Too bad because it's a great track. Would be nice if you could sign a waiver or something to be allowed to drive faster.

We have visited Goodwood Kartways many times in the past couple of years to watch our nephew race. They have race days and we have had to turn around and go home because there was no where to park. That's a little dissappointing! Don't go on a rainy day. The parking area is not paved and it becomes quite muddy.

Took my kids there on a Tuesday night and after driving 40 minutes to get there I find out it's not open to the public on week nights after sept 1st. Too bad it did not say this on their website. Kids were very upset. Took them back again today(Sunday) the karts were being supervised by a ten year old kid who had no idea what he was doing and was already arguing with two different customers. Finally got our karts after 20 minutes waiting and head out on to the track. These are the slowest karts I've ever driven! Except for the one black kart that had a grandmother and little kid in it that lapped me and my two teenage sons three times in ten minutes! The track is gorgeous but stay away from this place unless you are there racing your own karts. This was a giant insult to me and my two boys and a total waste of $70!

A bit pricey, $28 plus tax gets you 15 mins, but they are pretty relaxed about a few extra minutes here and there it seems. Karts do vary greatly in speed but just ask the attendants which ones are running fastest that day. Tip: the black ones are for doubles but are waaay faster. If no one is there wanting to double up they will give you one.....track is beautiful and well maintained and is actually used for pro Kart races. A little imagination and you can pretend you're at Lemans! Overall we had a great time. My 9 yr old son was in heaven.

My brother-in -law and nephew belong to this club at Goodwood and it is fun, competive, and a learning experience. This place is run with excellence and expertise. Come and join in the family atmosphere. You will not be dissapointed.

The track is beautiful the speed of the carts terrible. Turtle comes to mind. If your kids is 5 yrs old maybe he/she would enjoy it but older than that forget it. People working there told me they can't go faster because the motors are government regulated. What a joke. Awful. Track isn't really for public use, the track is used for professional go-cart racers and when we watched them go... WOW! FAST! Get your own go-cart and then you can have some fun. The track is beautiful and well maintained.

My daughter wanted to go go-carting. I decided to go to Goodwood Kartways because I had been by there many times, and it was close to home. So we paid our money, and off we went. Now I know what riding a lawn tractor feels like. I had my foot to the floor the whole time, and I don't think I got past 10-15kms per hour. My daughters cart was faster however, as she lapped me a couple of times. Afterwards, I commented to the attendant how lame it was, and he just shrugged his shoulders. Seriously, I could go faster in a shopping cart going downhill. Don't waste your time or money people, there are other go-carting facilities out there. In one word, LAME!

Great for the kids. Carts are getting a little old but they are still good in the corners. Bets value is to by a 20 minute package.

So thinking of a fun outing to do with some friends I looked around for an outdoor course thinking that they'd have a better track with some serious karts available. Or even if they were capped at a certain speed at least the quality of kart would be better, right? How wrong I was...So there was four of us in total on a sunny afternoon, not many people there aside from those partaking in the arrive and drive karts which are the high powered, members ONLY karts that go brilliantly fast yet require quite the investment from you just to drive. Then there are the karts we got to take out which are these beat up, pathetic looking things that are barely holding themselves together. The first kart I had it's seatbelt was completely busted yet hey I'm good to go out on the track with it flopping in my lap, this should have been my first sign of a bad kart. Yet off we go, so very slowly. Me, more so slower then the 3 of my friends to which after doing about 3 laps the young chap looking after us pulled me off to give me another banged up kart only to go around for the remainder of our 20 mins at a Sunday's drive pace. (fittingly it was a Sunday)After it was all said and done the overall consensus was, "Was that it?!" Sadly yes, that was it. After questioning the gentleman behind the desk about the quality and speed of the karts he said they were capped at 35kph. After hearing this I wish I was running my GPS tracker just to prove there was no way those things even came close to 25kph. Yet he assured me it was just my imagination when quoting indoor karts being in better shape and faster then those dinky karts. So if you were thinking of heading out of the city to enjoy some karting fun in the country, stay local and hit the indoor karts. Sure the track will be much shorter but the fun you'll have will be way more (and CHEAPER) then you'd get out of this place, unless you're one of their members with cash to burn on their high powered karts.

The best and longest gokart track I've been at. What a blast, especially on the hairpin turns!

A couple of weeks ago, I held part of my birthday party at Goodwood Kartways. Because I have been a racing fan, specifically F1, for many years and had not been karting in quite a while, I thought this would be a way to have some fun with my family and act like a “kid” again. (I won’t tell you how old I am, but it was a “significant” birthday!)Back in May, I began to search for venues and found 2 that seemed ideal: Formula Kartways in Brampton and Goodwood Kartways. My wife and I checked out both places and decided on Goodwood for a couple of reasons: it was outdoors and the track was longer (3/4 vs.1/4 mile). We got in touch with the track at least twice and let them know what we were planning: a birthday party with 12 people driving. We were informed about 2 options for our event: we could purchase a block of time for the group using the regular karts, which had a top speed of 35 – 40 kph, or we could opt for the higher speed karts (70 kph), since we had 12 people, which was the minimum required. We decided not to go with the second option, because we had a number of people who wouldn’t be able to handle the higher speeds, due to age and experience, and this option was also quite a bit more expensive than the first. (The owners seemed to be less interested once we decided on this lower-cost option.) Everything was a go; we booked a time and sent out the invitations. A couple of days before my party, I called Goodwood and verified that we were scheduled for 4:00 pm on the Saturday.I arrived early on Saturday, just in case someone wanted to get a few laps in before the others arrived, and checked in at the registration desk. I was informed that they only had 9 karts available, so we would have to go out in 2 groups of 6, rather than all of us being on the track at the same time. Needless to say, I was disappointed, since we had let them know months in advance that we had a group of 12, and their advertising says the track can handle up to 32 karts at a time. My next disappointment was the washroom facilities: they were not well-kept at all; in fact, the door to one of the stalls was broken off and leaning against the toilet. (I was later informed that the women’s washroom was in even worst condition.) While I waited for the others, I watched some of the karting that was going on and it was obvious that some karts were faster than others, but I couldn’t tell whether it was because of the karts or because of the drivers. Once everyone had arrived, I went to pay for our block of time. Even though we had booked a 4:00 o’clock start, we still had to wait in line behind others who had arrived after us, but paid before us. At about 4:25, our first group was assigned their karts and went out for their 20-minute session. At least they got in a full 20 minutes of running time; I was afraid that the clock might start running when the track employee began to give his instructions, but that wasn’t the case. Knowing the abilities of the drivers who had gone out, I now knew that some karts were, in fact, quicker than others (and it seemed that the women in our group were assigned slower karts than the men). This was verified when our group went out; I was only able to race some of the others periodically for a few corners and then either I or they would drive away on the next straight. That said, the biggest challenge was to see if you could keep the pedal to the floor all the way around the track. Once you figured that you could, the challenge was then to make sure your leg and your back didn’t give out before the 20 minutes was up!To sum up, we did have fun (or so everyone said), although there were frustrations: the snack bar was not inviting, the washrooms were filthy and the karts were not adequately maintained (and there weren’t enough of them) nor comfortable to drive. On the plus side, the location was ideal for us, the track itself was great and the weather co-operated magnificently, though I can’t credit Goodwood Kartways for that. Will I go back? I think I’ll check out some other venues for comparison before I make that decision.
