Second time coming and both times have been great! The tour is informative. The beer is good. Prices are decent. Highly recommended
I stay in the downtown core of Toronto several times a year and wander over to the Steam Whistle Brewery a minimum of once a year (twice this year). The beer is fresh, tasty, the people are very friendly and the building is a classic! Toronto and Ontario have some great craft beers, this brewery brews some of the better ones I have tasted. I have yet to take the tour but will on one of my next trips to Steam Whistle, as I have heard it is great.
My boyfriend and I have been to the brewery before but we go back everytime we're in Toronto. They give you complimentary samples while waiting for your tour and a beer to drink while on the tour. We had Sarah as our tour guide and she was super friendly and knowledgable. The tour lasted about a half hour and covered everything and more that we wanted to learn about the brewery and the brewing process. It was definitely worth the price of $10 a person for the tour. For the $10 we got the tour, the samples and one beer, as well as a souvenir after the end of the tour :) We will definitely be back again!
I just went there to try the beer but I was really surprised to meet really cool people. You can visit the place to see how they make the beer, I don't remember the price but it's not expensive. If you're curious like me, you can ask for a sample of the unfiltered beer. The taste is not the same at all, it's very interesting! Worth a try!Anyway, I really enjoyed my time there and by the way the beer is good ;)
For those who like to drink a special beer, it is a good place. I did the tour, which took around 30 minutes, and the guide explained us how the beer is done and the special features of the beer. Good place to go while you wait for something in Downtown, and also, drink a good beer.
Fun way to spend a few hours. The VIP tour includes pizza and beer, and a loot bag for more beer....The tour was a bit short, and went backwards (which was odd) from the packing area to the bottling area. I wanted to see where the raw ingredients go into the big vats, but that wasn't part of the tour.Alex our tour guide was VEry enthusiastic about the place, and knew a fair bit about the beer making process. If you're gong because you want to see the roundhouse building itself, note that there is relatively little to see of the original building inside the brewery, and how it functioned.
Very informative tour, and the beer was excellent.I'll be back the next time I'm in Toronto. Also a very cool spot to go and just have a beer, and a good price too. $4 bottles, and $6 drafts.Congrats to Steam Whistle. Now 1% of all Canadian Beer sales in Canada. Kudos.Greg H
The tour was awesome and very informative. The 'banquet hall' is a great place to have a reception for any event, quaint yet elegant! To top it all, the staff are so friendly!
Took a university group to the tour today after hearing a variety of wonderful things from other patrons! We LOVED our tour guide and were blown away by our tour guide Brandon. He was so entertaining and catered to our crowd as well as everyone else at the brewery. For $10 we got 2 pints of beer, the tour and a souvenir glass. If you don't care about the tour, go for the price of the beer alone; where else can you find alcohol that cheap in TO? BIG THANK YOU from the University of Lethbridge Model United Nations Club!!
Popped in on the off chance they had a couple of spaces on their tour, and we were pleasantly surprised they had one in 20 mins. Give a small free taser of the Pilsner they brew whilst waiting in the warm. The tour guide was a lovely chap, very funny and informative, we were each given a bottle of Steam Whistle to enjoy on our tour and a set of head phones so we didn't miss a thing. All in all a great little tour for $10.
Walked in, mainly because the weather had turned a bit cold and windy. A friendly welcome awaits as soon as you walk in the door. It has a long bar and is a large, light and airy space. There are three guided tours of the brewery. We chose the $10 tour which gives you a very knowledgeable and relaxed tour behind the scenes. It took around 30-40 minutes with a bottle of the Steam Whistle beer given to all at the start and then another at the end! Good stuff. The tour we chose also came with a Steam Whistle beer glass each, a good quality glass and a great memento. If you have an hour or so to spare have a look, you will enjoy it.
Take the tour while you visit. Just be sure to book in advance if you can as they fill up quickly with their rising popularity. Great to see most of the roundhouse being put to great use by these fine folks. I have an awesome time every time I go. 8 tours and counting!! :D
good value. depends on what you like but the beer is also good. you get a tour and 2 samples (one before and one after) and a bottle for the tour. depending on the type of tour you choose you can also get beer to bring home.
To be honest I'm not that into beer but my parter really is. We were recommended a visit to the Steamwhistle Brewerey from a friend of mine and we started up our visit in Toronto doing the guided tour of the brewerey. And surely it was all worth it!We had a great guide that told us not only the story of the brewery but also the story of the building. Very interesting facts were presented upon us while zipping the light beer. After the tour we also sat down and zipped a few more beers and buying some souvenirs back home to Sweden.Well worth the tour!
