Beautiful spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of large crowds. The gardens are extremely well maintained and makes for great photos.
What a beautiful spot...awesome gardens...awesome spot to sit and view the falls and enjoy the quiet oasis...good job to those who are the gardeners keep up your awesome work...
We stumbled across this park at the very end of our visit, around 11pm on a Sunday, and wished we'd found it sooner. It's a haven right at the foot of Clifton Hill. Beautiful landscaping and benches from which you can see the falls. Peaceful. An oasis from the hustle and bustle going on just a few yards away. If we'd known about this park just a couple of hours earlier, we would have gotten our take-away poutine and eaten it here.
Right across the street from the falls. This is such a beautiful park. Gave the camera to my 10 year old and he started to see things differently
I am surprised this park has not been reviewed more. It is a beautifully designed park and meticulously landscaped with different paths going into varied areas. Not at all big but not small either. A great spot to sit and look at the falls in the distance or to have an outdoor lunch. Kudos to the folks doing the landscaping. Top Notch job!
The Oakes Garden Theatre is a very nice park along the Niagara River with beautiful views of the Falls. It is a great place to take some nice family/couple pictures. The flowers, trees, and bushes are all well kept. I recommend visiting the park, even if it is just for a few minutes.
Very pretty garden right across from the Maid of the Mist of boat ride. Definately worth checking out. Nice view down the Niagara Parkway and up and down the river as well. There was a wedding going on here with the falls in the background while I was here. Very pretty indeed. Also, check out the secret garden restaurant next door as well.
The Oakes Garden Theatre is the entranceway to Queen Victoria Park. Located at the foot of Clifton Hill, The Oakes Garden Theatre is only one part of the park. The park extends down parkway to Murray street. There is a nice shaded trail for walking and has many other great photo spots. The Oakes Garden Theatre is probably the most popular and the day we visited (Friday June 14,2013), there was actually a couple taking their wedding photos on the grounds. This is a free attraction during your stay and there is some history you can read up regarding this park and this garden. On one of the walls here, there is a plague with information about where the garden gets its name. If you don't get off the bus and stroll a little, you will completely miss this jewel. The pond is gorgeous!
Ever wish that you had some time to think, this is the place to do it. Although in the winter months it is desolate, it makes for a quiet place to sit and think. In the summer months is is flourishing with colour and beauty. Beautiful park to enjoy with family & friends. Also a short walk to the main drag and to the falls. Prime location for both journeys.
Great place to come too to get away from all the hussell and bussell. Take a nice leisurely walk, Sit and have a nice lunch. Beautiful place to have wedding pictures taken.
This is a nice free garden across from the falls that is very well maintained. Beautiful hedges and flower arrangements/patterns as well as structures and architecture.
We spent a short amount of time wandering around the Oakes Garden Theatre. It's free so you should definitely visit. Very serene and beautiful kept. The guys working were very helpful in identifying and explaining some of the plants.
The Oakes Garden Theatre is a nice little park in downtown Niagara Falls. The Secret Garden restaurant is located in the park. The park is well landscaped and a visit to the park should be fairly short as there is not a tremendous amount of things to see. There is a small parking area adjacent to the park; however, be warned, the cost to park in one of those spaces is $5 per half hour with no daily maximum. Ouch!
There was a variety of songs, with a narrator in between, taking you through the history of Elvis's life. Elvis sounded just like the real guy and had all the moves!
We sat on the steps and wathced the fireworks. The area was not crowded, there were no vendors and it had a great view. The fireworks lasted about 10 minutes.
