Beautiful design and very peaceful. Can't miss it-right by the 403 Highway. Cootes Paradise and the Hamilton Bay feature nature areas.
The Cathedral of Christ the King is a beautiful historic building in the old fashion style. We attend Mass here occasionally and love coming to see this gorgeous Church built up on a hill overlooking part of Hamilton. The grounds are beautiful and the steps up to the Church are impressive as is the building itself with carvings, statues and stained glass windows in the Gothic style.
I made my first visit to this Church for a wedding, the church is very amazing, beautiful stained glasses inside the church.Church is located nearby a highway and eass to find the place. The only concern is that they don't like taking pictures during the wedding mass. It is worth visiting this church.
Our family decided to take in Sunday mass here. We were in awe of the spectacular cathedral. The mass just happened to have a special guest speaker. We loved the experience. The organ was unbelievable. The cantor had a wonderful voice. There was no problem hearing the mass in this huge building. You will be impresses by the numerous stained glass windows. Don't look up for very long or you may get vertigo. The grounds are well manicured. It was just a wonderful experience! We plan going back.
Grand old cathedral in downtown west end just by the 403. They televise their Christmas midnight mass on local tv.
I've been to this cathedral several times and am taken aback each visit by its' beauty which is only enhanced when incense is used during mass. There are plenty of pews that are very comfortable and have built in speakers to aid the acoustics. There are also flat screen monitors throughout so that nothing is missed. I don't know her name, but, the short lady that sings has a goose bump creating amazing voice, I wish I could convince her to come to my parish lol. It is well worth a visit.
The Cathedral is one the nicest Churches I have ever visited in the Hamilton district. The workmanship to the outside structure is absolutely amazing. Once inside you are captured by the craftsmanship of artistic construction and beauty at it's best. A perfect place of worship.
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful places in hamilton. It's an absolutely majestic church, tucked away, just off of king street. Definitely worth a visit if just to stand on the stairs or the romeo and juliette style balconies.
What a beautiful church! It is amazing to see how large this place really is when you first walk into it. I think it is one of Canada's finest churches. The location is right off the highway and whether you are Catholic or not - you just have to come here...you will be awestruck at its beauty.
This is one of the most beautiful churches we have attended in the city, we have seen weddings, anniversary's and special visits from clergy from all over the world. The architect is absolutely amazing.
Went there as a child a few times & to enjoy a concert ...it is a very beautiful church to visit with stunning architecture
This is a very peaceful church with astounding acoustics. The architecture is beautiful and the decor is simple which keeps your focus where is should be :) The gardens outside the church are well kept and inviting. One of my favorite stops on the Hamilton.
I have been to a service and a wedding here it is a massive beautiful church just of the highway in hamilton
This is a neo-gothic cathedral built in the 1930's . If one did not know when it was actually built one would guess it was built in the Middle Ages . Amazing detail in the stonework , the stained glass windows and the floor and ceiling .I do not think it is opened for tours and in fact if there is no function going on it is kept locked for security reasons . Check out the schedule and go view it during one of its functions .
The like of these structures won't be seen again. Can't imagine there ever being enough money in one spot to undertake such an edifice. Go and don't worry if you're not of the faith. You'll be made welcome.
