This is a great place to visit. The aircraft on show are in pretty good shape thanks to all the dedicated volunteers that can be seen on the site, some in their overalls, working away on these planes. It is a labour of love, no doubt about it. Volunteer guides are eager to show visitors around and answer all your questions (Thanks Bruce!) We visited for a photo shoot which went quite well. The lighting is good and the place is kept clean and tidy. The restaurant is well maintained and the food was pretty good and priced reasonable. Pretty sure it was cooked to order too. No hint of micro wave effort....Make sure you visit the gift shop. Good stuff!
This place will blast your psat full of memories .. also very delightful in seeing how many volunteers working on restoration projects 5 thumbs up .. If your an enthusiast this place is for you .. Enjoy...
If you are an enthusiast of planes or war birds this is the place to go and see some well kept planes. It is very interactive with young ones with many things to do. A nice march break adventure
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is so interesting for both adults and children. There is so much history there, and just to be close to the many lovingly-restored aircraft is exciting and a hands-on learning experience. The volunteers are great and very knowledgeable. Our grandchildren loved it, and so did we!!
This is a great place to go and see the history that involves Canada's Air Force. See the planes up close and personal and talk to the volunteers restoring the latest find.
the Mount Hope Airfield was a training base during the Second World War....The Museum is fantastic....catch the airshow....and yes you can fly in the Lanc
Our family has enjoyed many repeat visits to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum for different events, special displays, an overnight scout camp, class visit and just for fun. The amazing volunteers are helpful and informative and spend many hours restoring the planes in a labour of love. It is a very hands on experience, reasonably priced with something for everyone from tots to Grandpas very accessible and a great gift shop.
There are several old aircraft to see, including war planes; training planes; and some newer aircraft. The highlight of the museum is the Avro Lancaster.
Their is not rush and usually someone to explain each plane the display are easy to view and also wheelchair accessible , a nice gift shop with prices that can be in the low range of 10.xx and up there is a small resturant on site, and reasonable prices. you can have a history lesson and know more about our history . I have been there several times. and enjoy it each time i am there. and for remebarance day NOV11th it is the place to be, for the service . plus it is indoors. you will also see the lancaster that went to England in 2014.
It's a great place to visit on a cold winters day. There are many interactive exhibits, and of coarse the planes themselves. The cost of entering is a bit expensive, but you have to also remember these planes are expensive to operate and maintain. There is plenty of free on site parking. There is also a gift shop and snack bar.
Unique museum focusing on Canadain WW 2 air services and planes. Only flying Lancaster in North America. Interactive areas great for kids. Just to see these airplanes up close is a thrill.
great place to visit. had a retired pilot tour us around and that is really what made the visit. we are going to coming back for a flight when it warms up.
Great for airplane history buffs and people who just like planes. Lots to do and see for everyone. Take lots of pictures when your there
Excellent place to take out of town visitors. Great experience. Volunteers are very good at answering any questions about planes.
Its amazing to see and hear the planes fly. We in Hamilton have a Lancaster, that still flies... I am lucky enough to hear it fly often on weekends... worth the visit!
